#BernieSoBlack He Just Rolled Out a Pretty Good Racial Justice Platform
The weeks-long feud between Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and protesters from the #BlackLivesMatter movement culminated this weekend in yet another confrontation, this time at a Sanders rally in Seattle. The increasingly bitter rift, which took off at Netroots Nation a few weeks ago and split wide open with the #BernieSoBlack social media campaign, resulted in a #BlackLivesMatter takeover of a Sanders rally on Sunday that has even some supporters of the movement scratching their heads.
The move did nothing to endear #BlackLivesMatter to outsiders, but it did have the effect of getting their message out, which has been the point all along. To some degree, that strategy appears to have worked, as later that weekend, Sanders released a racial justice platform that goes a good deal farther than his other recent policy proposals on the issue. For example, where Sanders once called for federal funding of police body cameras, he has now caught up with Hillary Clinton, and favors making the cameras mandatory. He also proposes increased federal oversight over police misconduct and use of force, robust criminal justice and sentencing reform, and a raft of voting rights provisions…READ MORE

Almost seems like the perfect plan, use a black women to interrupt Bernie and frame the BLM movement, then people will talk crap about the movement to were whites will hate blacks even more, while Palin and others sit back and laugh about sabotaging Bernie! I just hope Hillary is NOT involved because Bernie is coming up with a lot of support, which will challenge her! IMHO!!

Well, whether the girls were part of BLM or not, it’s ending with a net positive effect…. so at least there’s that.
Bernie let BLM members open up his LA speech and he’s being more outspoken about his plans and further defined them
Plus, the conversation about the BLM movement hasn’t gotten much louder.
Not only louder, but due to these girls being a foil, there’s a loud voice of support for BLM and how that type of conduct isn’t expected or welcome.
If anything, it seems like those girls are ending up solidifying a more positive and warm perception of BLM as a whole… and people being more willing to be outspoken about the concerns that need to be addressed.
Who knows what they intended for sure, I’m just glad to see it’s turning out largely positive.

“It seems like those girls are ending up solidifying a more positive and warm perception of BLM as a whole…”
Is that why Hillary had her Secret Service detail stop 5 people wearing BLM shirts from entering her campaign rally?

I meant in society, as a whole, there is a loud agreement in response to that event, that the BLM movement is a positive force and not about that kind of rude behavior.
Individual candidates may differ.
Regardless of Hillary, Bernie listened.
I don’t approve of the girls tactics, but I do appreciate how Bernie has reacted.

I’ve had a different view of them since O’Malley was booed into silence for saying, “Black Lives Matter! White lives matter! All lives matter!”
Kick Frenzy August 14th, 2015 at 13:23
That was a miscommunication on both parts, I think.
He was trying to agree, while pointing out that all lives matter… which includes black lives.
They were trying to make a point about how black lives are treated, specifically, and to try to parse that into “all lives matter” sounds like he’s missing the point… regardless of whether he is or not.

I thought he just hired a black chick to introduce him so that this image wouldn’t become his campaign photo.
