From IBT

In a display of just how far his moderate brand of Republican politics goes, presidential hopeful John Kasich elucidated his positions on criminal justice and climate change Sunday, suggesting he would be open to police-worn body cameras but less welcoming of measures to address climate change. The Ohio governor referred to human-induced climate as “some theory…

If Kasich unhesitatingly echoed all liberal positions, he’d be a liberal, not a moderate Republican.

Actually he’s a far cry from being moderate.

      • Cyberquill August 16th, 2015 at 04:48

Which is another way of saying he’s not a full-fledged liberal.

Exactly, why not Google and or use Wikipedia and check his bio out in no way could anyone describe him as anything but what he is.

The help we gave the auto sector paid off, it’s doing great now and this guy voted against the help we gave them and thought we would be better off if factories and dealers across America had weeds growing in the parking lots.

Kasich is no “moderate republican” by any means…He just looks safe and unimposing, and speaks quietly until his anger gets the better of him…He is the biggest threat to HRC or Bernie in the General election…He carries a lot of baggage that would sink the other candidates, but there are corporate forces who want him as their puppet…

If I thought Kasich could make it through the primaries I might be a little worried. He just doesn’t have what it takes to make the rabid GOP base happy though.

Good old Kasich..2011 signed into law a ban on abortions after 20 weeks and made it more difficult for doctors to get admitting privileges and there was No Provision provided for victims of rape and incest. The following year he signed into law that a woman Had To Have and ultrasound.

And he is the moderate, how much worse can this party get before it implodes?

      • allison1050 August 10th, 2015 at 13:24

As long as they continue to vote tees in to city/county and state and federal offices it’ll continue for a long long time.

Ohio’s Guber referred to human-induced climate as “some theory that’s not proven” on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” and worried that policies meant to limit carbon pollution would cost his Koch Brothers a few pennies vs reality “Consensus: 97% of climate scientists agree”-NASA, NOAH, UK MET, etc. http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

Well if the koch’s lose money, who will fuel the clown bus?

    Herr Gruppenfuhrer Kasich.

“and worried that policies meant to limit carbon pollution would cost too many jobs.” ………..and if we do nothing, it will cost lives. Hmmm, money, lives, money, lives………the choice is hard if you have no moral integrity.

Like believing in climate change is a choice…???
Matter can never be destroyed, so it would follow that using matter to power our machines merely changes the form of the matter. i.e. aerosol lead anyone…??? Why do you think we stopped using lead in gasoline…???
It would follow that using petro-chemicals and meds would expose us to dangerous molecular combinations of which only a few could be predicted.

And even if everything about climate change is a total and complete lie…what would be wrong with cleaner air, cleaner water, and a healthy environment…??? Surely everyone wants to leave the planet to our kids in better shape than when we took over.

On criminal justice he looks good, as a gov doing just about what Obama is doing at the federal level; this was from Buzzfeed a few days ago…

Kasich has “banned the box” in Ohio state hiring and signed a bill
into law that gives judges more discretion to sentence low-level drug
offenders to something besides prison and allows some drug offenders
already serving time to petition for early release.

Kasich’s record has been “visionary,” Harris said. “He actually said
that jailing the mentally ill is a disgrace,” she added. “And, you know,
you don’t hear that a lot from candidates.”
