A lawsuit filed recently in Indiana accuses a teacher at Forest Park Elementary School in Indiana of giving a 7-year-old student “banishment” meaning he was not allowed to sit with other students at lunch merely because he said he didn’t believe in God.

According to the lawsuit which was obtained by The Washington Post, second grade teacher Michelle Myer asked the student, who was only identified  with the initials A.B., about his religious beliefs after he allegedly informed his classmates that he did not go to church because he didn’t believe in God.

The child was then  ordered to sit by himself during lunch for a three days….READ MORE at  LiberalAmerica.org

If a kid on the playground started crying merely because another kid said he didn’t believe in god, the first kid’s parents have done a lousy job of raising their child. How in the hell is she going to survive this big bad world if a plain statement of fact upsets her to the point of crying? And if it turns out this teacher actually did what is claimed in the suit, she needs to be fired so she can get a job at a religious school. It’s obvious she has not idea of the purpose of public schools.

Shunning, humiliation, and persecution of young children — it’s the “Christian” thing to do.

    Additionally, the lawsuit also alleges:

“On the day of the incident and for an additional two days thereafter, Ms. Meyer required that A.B. sit by himself during lunch and told him he should not talk to the other students and stated that this was because he had offended them. This served to reinforce A.B.’s feeling that he had committed some transgression that justified his exclusion.”

Hmmmm, Meyer’s is a state/govt. employee. Congress can’t abridge your religious views or promote some religious views over others, don’t think a teacher trumps Congress. I smell a lawsuit and a fat settlement. lol

    Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

This could be a huge opportunity. She’ll be fired, and some nutjobs will start a crowdfunding campaign to support her…

May she get lots of money from that campaign, because it’ll all end up going to this kid’s family.

Who the hek do these low information teachers think they are? The 14th century Catholic Church?

    • whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 19:15

children should never be humiliated in this manner for any reason. and she needs to GO!

It’s manifestly obvious that this teacher didn’t think the whole separation of church and state thing applied in this situation.

Uh, yes it does. If she wants to behave like this, she’d best pack her bags and find a parochial school willing to entertain her notion of peer pressure discipline.

Meantime, the school district had best lawyer up because this is going to be one bumpy ride.

Of course many voucher schools hire teachers more interested in preaching than teaching. If fact, many of them aren’t certified educators to begin with. A college educated teacher would cost to much money/

    Teach don’t preach.

    • ohpaleasegivemeabreak August 4th, 2015 at 06:46

IF she were capable of teaching she wouldn’t be preaching lies.

This is an obvious violation of the student’s constitutional rights. Michelle Myer should be terminated immediately and the school district should apologize to the student and his family, be fined and pay all court costs.

It should come out of HER salary and the school should sue her to recover any funds the taxpayers have to shell out for his bitch’s stupidity.

  8. Elephant Fairy August 3rd, 2015 at 21:04

This is just disgusting. I went to a Catholic school, basically told my teachers that God, if he existed, was an asshole and they took no action against me.

    • Gindy51 August 4th, 2015 at 06:47

She’s a stupid religious wacko who has no business teaching anything but Sunday school to ignorant people’s spawn. Fire this idiot.

It’s a good thing the kid didn’t make a gun with his hand and point his index finger at somebody, because then he would have been “banished” into police custody.

    • Glen August 4th, 2015 at 00:06

Only if he was black, of course.

The 7 year old is expressing exactly what Mother Teresa’s diary reveals about her own atheism! Trust me this kid is lucky and now he’ll be rewarded with riches and private school tuition. A go fund me fortune can’t be far away, until his lawsuit ship saves him from the ‘flood’ of ignorance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG_RA_IKO6g

This kid must wield some sort of unusual power or is some type of savant for his words to have such an impact.

    • whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 22:23

too bad his head didn’t spin around.

      • craig7120 August 3rd, 2015 at 23:06

        I know, right
        He’s just a kid
I wonder how is he going to act now knowing how to manipulate teachers with his words? My hunch, he’s going to play this attention like Beethoven played the guitar, it won’t be effective but it will be noisy.

        • whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 23:25

i did another stupid laugh. lol

  13. William August 3rd, 2015 at 23:44

Whenever I click on the link in this story to read more all I get is a popup ad for Publisher’s Clearing House with no way to continue to the story. I am noticing this sort of thing often anymore on Liberaland.

    • Larry Schmitt August 4th, 2015 at 16:43

If you use Adblock Plus, you won’t get the popups. But even if you don’t use it, there should be an “x” in the corner of the popup that will close it. You might have to scroll up to see it.
