Earnest: Putin And Obama Spoke Thursday ‘About Their Strenuous Differences’
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told me on radio Thursday night that President Obama and Vladimir Putin spoke by phone that day. We also discussed the reaction to the Supreme Court decision on Obamacare
COLMES: I just got a notice that the President spoke to Vladimir Putin today?
EARNEST: He did. They had a conversation just this afternoon in the Oval Office via telephone.
COLMES: What did they talk about?
EARNEST: Well they talked about a couple of things. There are some areas were we have been cooperating with Russia. Russia has been participating in these conversations that we’ve been having with Iran recently. Russia is a part of the P5+1 and they have been instrumental in building the international coalition that has compelled Iran to come to the negotiating table and talk to the international community about shutting down every pathway they have to a nuclear weapon. So the two presidents had an opportunity to consult about that but they also had an opportunity to talk about their pretty strenuous differences too.
