Arkansas Pol: Sunday Pride Parade ‘An Affront To People Who Believe In God’

Posted by | June 7, 2015 13:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Does this mean he’d be fine with a gay pride parade any other day of the week?

Sen. Jason Rapert (R) took to his Facebook page to rail at the city council that initiated the parade back in 2003, stating that they chose Sundays to have the parade because, “because they understand that the lifestyle they are glorifying on our streets is considered sin by every Bible-believing Christian and they use their parade on a day reserved to worship God and reverence the Lord to mock Christians.”

“I object to Mayor Townsell and the Conway City Council continuing to allow people, many of whom do not even live in our community, to parade down our streets on a Sunday and accuse Christians of being ‘bigots’ because they believe the Bible teaches that homosexuality is sin,” he wrote. “This is truly one of the most offensive public displays against Christians you will find anywhere in our state and especially offensive because they have specifically chosen Sunday to try and intimidate people who believe in the Word of God.”

Apparently the way Teh Gayz “intimidate people who believe in the Word of God” is by existing. It’s not called “homophobia” for nothing.

    Simple solution…
Don’t go to the parade if you dont want to be offended~!

Sounds easy, doesn’t it? But that’s not the problem. The problem is these people exist to bitch and moan. Gays just happen to be the whine of choice these days.

I guess the Israelis are an affront to people who believe in god as well.

Their gay pride celebration culminates on Friday June 12.

That would be the day of the weekly Shabbat ceremony

The city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa is expecting a crowd of 180,000 revelers from all over on June 12 for its annual Gay Pride Parade, which will focus for the first time on Israel’s transgender people.

Shabbat (the Sabbath) is the centerpiece of Jewish life, and has been so since the infancy of our nation. According to the Talmud, Shabbat is equal to all the other commandments. Shabbat is so central to Jewish lifeShabbat is the centerpiece of Jewish life that the term shomer Shabbat (Shabbat observer) is synonymous with “religious Jew” in common parlance.

Shabbat is a day of rest and celebration that begins on ***Friday*** at sunset and ends on the following evening after nightfall. Let’s have a look at the history, importance and observances of this day.

Christian conservatives are an affront to people who believe in tolerance and compassion for people of all races, cultures, religions, and gender identifications.

I consider their meeting every week to discuss what other people’s faults are an offense. My god backs me up on this.

‘on a day reserved by glorifying child molesters to worship repub Gods in reverence to their faux Lord, by mocking non-faux Christians.’-Arkansas Duggar lovers would be too busy in church and watching Duggar reruns.

  7. Larry Schmitt June 7th, 2015 at 14:57

If you polled people outside Arkansas, they might say the people of Arkansas are an affront to humanity.

  8. Hirightnow June 7th, 2015 at 17:03

Poll them as to whether Jesus was white, or what the Bible says the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was…

Wrong again. Thor never mentioned the gays.

Israel would not exist without the United States. Our money keeps them on a piece of land that has held us captive for many years. All because their god promised them that land. He really did not like them very much or he might have considered a more prime property. His alter ego also promised the same sand box to the muslims. We are really suckers to be in the middle of their 2,000 yr old quarrel.

I still say if god had a chosen people it’d be the guys in Tahiti.

    • Dwendt44 June 8th, 2015 at 00:59

They lost the land way back in 70 AD, and it was mostly Muslim land until 1948 when the Jews attacked and won it back. NON Jews had the land for longer than the Jews did. Yet they claim total ownership. I wonder if the Native Americans can take back their land from the invading white man.

first of all what does this have to do with a gay pride parade?
Secondly, read your history books. The holocaust survivors were being turned away from most places. Even the US had strict quotas. Where else was there to go, other than the area that had historical significance to them. They couldn’t stay in the same communities that had turned them over to death camps.

What Rapert is claiming could only be true if the gay Americans participating in the parade were blocking the doors of every church in Conway and/or dragging Christians out of their homes and subjecting them to vigilante justice, but they’re not. Therefore, Rapert is not only lying and fearmongering, he’s playing the “poor persecuted Christians” card. No one is being forced to attend the gay pride parade, and no Christian is being physically or verbally attacked for his/her beliefs.

    • whatthe46 June 8th, 2015 at 00:01

aside fromt the fact that true christians are joining in on the parade.

  12. William June 7th, 2015 at 20:47

Well now lets see what Jesus says about gays.
    BTW.
    Jesus had two Dads.

this goof ball is an idiot but I have another complaint. Once a day I touch the world on this laptop – every site visited is fun and exciting – LL is the most complex slow full of crap advertising site in the world (at least where I go). All the popups, and ads and and and just make it more and more unfriendly. Whay not simpliy rather than complicate?

    • whatthe46 June 8th, 2015 at 02:56

like you ignore him, you can ignore the advertisments. lol. i don’t even notice them.

On that Sunday date of celebration of Gay Pride; all delusional and self victimized religious extremist-can go do their church things, have a barbecue and celebrate your pride. You can celebrate at your home with family and friends or at your church. Spend all day rejoicing and stay away from Pride celebrations. No one is forcing anyone to attend, no one is forcing anyone to participate, no one is forcing anyone to even watch news reports about the event. You can totally avoid any interaction and know that there is no obligation to become involved, or even come near any event. You won’t though. You will churn and boil with your rage hate. You will justify your self righteousness. You will not mind your own religion dogma within you , your family and church—-you will attempt to FORCE your beliefs on all other Americans. You will not be able to just stay out of the fray somehow.

  16. Jeffrey Samuels June 8th, 2015 at 09:08

Actually, Mr. Rapert, people like you are an affront to those of us who believe in justice and equal rights.

  17. allison1050 June 8th, 2015 at 09:25

So what happened here the dumbass just woke up to the Sunday parades or what? He certainly doesn’t look like he’s 2 y/o but must be.

    • phatkhat June 25th, 2015 at 14:59

Oh, Gawd, HIM. He got elected in the teabag sweep in ’10, and has gotten louder and more obnoxious ever since. He is, without a doubt, both one of the worst politicians in Arkansas (quite an achievement considering the rest of them) and aiming at much higher office. I’m sure he intends to run for governor, at least.
