David Hirsch, a.k.a. Dave "Doctor" Gonzo*, is a renegade record producer, video producer, writer, reformed corporate shill, and still-registered lobbyist for non-one-percenter performing artists and musicians. He lives in a heavily fortified compound in one of Manhattan's less trendy neighborhoods.

* Hirsch is the third person to use the pseudonym, a not-so-veiled tribute to journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson, with the permission of his predecessors Gene Gaudette of American Politics Journal (currently webmaster and chief bottlewasher at Liberaland) and Stephen Meese at Smashmouth Politics.

The WAPO says he’s to be arraigned this week…some body’s in trouble.

Sell his stuff and give every dime he has to his name to his victims, then throw denny into a jail filled with lifers who have nothing to lose and let them know he’s in for pedophilia. Let the chips fall where they may.

He’s being arraigned for money manipulation, not molestation or bribery. Withdrawing large amounts of cash without informing the IRS? I don’t get that either, if it’s your money you should be able to do what you want with it (legally).

It’s just a procedure by the bank. It’s helps track money laundering. Large deposits/withdrawals of cash on a frequent basis will trigger scrutiny. It doesn’t bother me a bit. Of course, I’ve never had to withdraw more than 10,000 in cash. I’ve needed more than that in a chashier’s check for buying a house…just not cash. You can do whatever you want with your money (legally).

Also lying to the FBI. The same thing that Martha Stewart did time for. You can lie to State and local police, but not the FBI. There is an old saying. If an FBI agent asks you for the time, don’t answer.

I can’t believe that dumb dumb was too dumb to know that you just can’t withdraw $50k at a time and NOT know that you can’t not give and accounting.

Or even dumber that he didn’t consult an attorney before talking to the Feds. The old “lying to the Feds” is a catch all. If you simply refuse to talk to the FBI, they have to develop an actual case against you. If you talk to them and at any point lie, they can simply try you for lying.

Large amounts of cash withdrawals are often linked to money laundering for crimes like prostitution, theft, and especially selling drugs. Putting money in the bank is like renting storage space. There are rules. The IRS has less to do with it, it is criminal activity. Taxes are not paid on criminal activity because it leads the FBI to the criminal and exposes the crime. In this case, Hastert = Sodomizing young boys = Cover Up = 3.5 million = Jail time = Loss of that Squeaky Clean Christian Family Values Image he was so good at faking while lusting for homosexual encounters with underage boys.
