    Saw one of these once– on the mid-eighties TV show Max Headroom, ep 2.6 “Neurostim,” in which our hero Edison Carter is made into a compulsive consumer (eighties, remember?) by a neural stimulation device.

    I swear, it worked exactly as described above, suggesting and inserting various accessories and colors as it rotated a full size video image of him in the chosen threads through 360 degrees.
