Huckabee: U.S. Moving Toward ‘Criminalization Of Christianity’

Posted by | April 25, 2015 11:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Mike Huckabee is running for president as a victim of Christian discrimination.

The United States is moving toward “criminalization of Christianity” as a result of legalizing same-sex marriage, Mike Huckabee told a group of conservative pastors in a conference call organized by the Family Research Council.

“I think it’s fair to say that Christian convictions are under attack as never before,” Huckabee said Thursday, according to audio of the call obtained by Right Wing Watch, a project of the progressive advocacy group People for the American Way. “Not just in our lifetime, but ever before in the history of this great nation. We are moving rapidly toward the criminalization of Christianity.”

not unless you commit crimes under the guise of ‘Christianity’.

even if being a ‘Christian’ did become a crime in and of itself, there’s not enough evidence to warrant charges being filed among any in the RepubliCON Party.

    • fahvel April 25th, 2015 at 14:29

      hardly a christian among them.

  2. arc99 April 25th, 2015 at 11:45

Burning witches and stoning adulterers are already illegal acts in this country.

The lesson learned here is that there are occasions where criminalizing some practices of Judeo-Christian beliefs will make the world a better place.

I am not bashing Christianity or the worship of the God of Abraham. Just pointing out an historical fact which if anyone cares to disagree with my opinion about that fact, feel free.

  3. whatthe46 April 25th, 2015 at 11:46

so what about those who are true christians that support same sex marriage? surely they don’t feel threatened. only faux “christians” like this numbnuts.

    • granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 12:29

would give a double up vote
      but LL rules don’t allow.

  4. Laura Freedlund April 25th, 2015 at 12:02

Drama Queen. Hey, Huck, who told you Christianity’s whole purpose was to hate gays? Why don’t you try reading the red letters in your bible, and doing what they say, instead of just hating everyone else and calling it “Christian”?

    • Chris April 25th, 2015 at 16:18

Truth be known, there are many more verses in the Bible dealing with adultery, lust, and other heterosexual proscriptions than gay behavior.

If Huck, et al, made this their main focus, their support would evaporate.

  5. Larry Schmitt April 25th, 2015 at 12:09

There he goes, making sh!t up again. Notice he never provides proof for any of these claims. How come I haven’t seen any news stories about “Christianity being criminalized?”

  6. William April 25th, 2015 at 12:24

Uh no Huck, There is a clear separation of church and state, that’s all. It is completely legal to sell pork throughout the United States, yet fundamental Jews and Adventists don’t feel threatened. See how that works?
If gay marriage upsets you, then perhaps you spend too much time thinking about it.

    • granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 12:32

depends on what part of the planet you’re standing on, Granpa Wil.

There’s rumors in the streets of Bangor that the UN is discussing the renaming of US.

      • William April 25th, 2015 at 12:51

I heard that Obama is rounding up all the guns and melting them down to make pens to sign gay marriage licenses with.

        • Larry Schmitt April 25th, 2015 at 13:01

Also to make a different kind of pen, to keep good christians in.

        • granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 17:24

          cool!

I’ve already seen some ads on the gun pride online cats where there’s AR-15 pens.

thinking about getting one so I can dot dot dot on Limbaugh’s face when it’s on my screen.

    • Larry Schmitt April 25th, 2015 at 12:48

Adventists don’t eat pork? That’s why I come here, I learn something every day.

      • William April 25th, 2015 at 12:50

7th day Adventists don’t. They eat a very healthy diet. My wife is an Adventist. I’m not, yet she doesn’t feel threatened. I think Huckabee has some real issues.

        • Larry Schmitt April 25th, 2015 at 13:18

You mean your occasionally ordering ribs from Friday’s doesn’t send her to the nearest TV camera, crying about how her religious beliefs are under attack? I thought that was how it worked.

    • Larry Schmitt April 25th, 2015 at 12:48

If gay marriage upsets you, don’t marry one.

      • William April 25th, 2015 at 12:53

Exactly. Nobody is forcing anybody to marry a gay person.

        • whatthe46 April 25th, 2015 at 13:13

          that’s fricken funny…!!!!!

        • granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 17:29

          simple.

          Republicans HATE freedom.

it’s why they sit around in drunken adulterous rages singing the bomb song.

      • whatthe46 April 25th, 2015 at 13:04

        simple ain’t it? duh. lol

        • granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 17:31

unless it’s one of their Euro baggage boys!

finding one with the right ‘length’ of service could become a real problem.

    • allison1050 April 25th, 2015 at 14:02

      He’s probably jealous.

      • granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 17:34

        TRUE.

jealousy people who become absolutely enraged tend to come up with unfounded accusations.

anybody check to see if his Euro baggage boy ‘tied the knot’?

eutjanizing does have its place. Idiots and evil should/must be eradicated. Send the psycho to denmark.

  8. Chris April 25th, 2015 at 16:15

Huck knows the dog whistles that loosen up the GOP-evangelical purse strings.

It doesn’t matter that it makes no sense. He learned that a long time ago.

    • granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 17:38

      his professional etiquette.

      MONEY!

    • Dwendt44 April 26th, 2015 at 00:25

He’s been selling hokum to the gullible for a long time. Every Fundagelical preacher is taught exactly how to do it in bible college.

  9. pinballsdoll April 25th, 2015 at 16:16

    this guy is absolutely delutional

    • granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 17:37

you just now coming to that conclusion?

  10. granpa.usthai April 25th, 2015 at 17:42

I remember not too long ago, him and the leader of DPRK held the exact same political views on this subject.

    Birds of a feather.

maybe he would be happier living under a government that agrees with him?

maybe we could ship him over with a big red ribbon bow on his head.

  11. fancypants April 26th, 2015 at 01:04

    …………….

  12. Foundryman April 26th, 2015 at 10:35

I don’t agree with criminalizing it, but I would like to see religion be classified as political/community organizations and be taxed. Donations should not be tax deductible since so much of it are used for political gain or support. They spend as much time promoting political ideology as they do teaching about the bible. Huckabee proves that everyday.

  13. liberalMD April 26th, 2015 at 11:06

No one is criminalizing Christianity…..but Christians feel that certain rights are being taken away from them because rights and freedoms which certain groups have not been afforded to enjoy in the past are being extended to them. We must be very careful of people like Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum, who have interpreted the Christian religious teachings and the Bible to accommodate their personal belief system and are touting these as religion. If these people gain a significant foothold into the government, we will see the progress of freedom in this country slide back to that of the seventeenth century.

If one has been discriminatory in their business practices with whom they serve, who they hire or how they treat their employees; they have always been criminally culpable of breaking the law. No one is forcing someone to practice capitalism in a democracy. They can move to a theocratic governed country and practice their divisiveness, separatism, discrimination, intolerance, hate, bigotry, sexism, and racism all they want. In American it is illegal to discriminate and that has always been and will always be against our Constitution no matter what fraudulent fake religious excuse one spinelessly clings to.
