ESPN’s Britt McHenry Would’ve Been Better Off Choking Someone To Death On Video
If you’ve been on your computer or watched cable news in the past 24 hours, you probably know who Britt McHenry is by now. The ESPN sideline reporter is starring in the most popular video on the internet not to feature the line “Chewie, we’re home,” and reaping the consequences.
In case you missed it, McHenry went to an impound lot last week after her car had been towed, and fired a stream of privileged invective at the attendant that would make Better Call Saul‘s Jimmy McGill blush. More than just a dressing down, McHenry’s rant was a pathetic mix of minor celebrity weight-throwing, class-shaming, and mean-girl insults about the attendant’s appearance. All people asking to fire this girl is crazy. I don’t watch most sports and I did not know her before. Today I saw a video with this girl taking a satisfaction and saying sarcastic jokes to a towing co. employee. She was full time calm, no profanities or insults, just sarcastic. A) ESPN has only to judge her work, what she does in her private life is not their business. They can just not renew her contract, at its expiration, if she is no more popular. B) Towing companies are ruthless gangs, who works for them is a despicable person and most of the normal people insult them by far more going to pick back their own kidnapped car. Everybody hates towing people but she is young, beautiful, successful and with balls, so envy will play a role

McHenry is a decent enough sports reporter, that relies a little too heavily on her looks. She’s young and pretty and I remember those days so I can forgive her for taking the path of least resistance. However, now instead of being a strong smart woman that can handle herself in a non-traditional job, she’s become fodder for every misogynist wanting to call strong independent women shrill bitches. She’s hurt more than her own career.

One high level producer tells us, “She’s the worst. Hopefully she’ll be fired soon.”
Another person told us, “[What she did] reflects on all of us at ESPN. She will be fired soon. If not, I’ll be shocked.”
“She came off more than rude in that clip. It seems like she needs some humble pie,” says another ESPN staffer … “[ESPN] can find a million Britt McHenrys to replace her.”
One famous ESPN’er (who also didn’t want to be named) told us, “Put it like this, she’s replaceable.”
