He’s gone May 20, and it’s going to be a star-packed swan song.

CBS announced Monday that his guests will include Bill Murray, George Clooney, Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Robert Downey Jr., Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Don Rickles, Julia Roberts, Ray Romano, Howard Stern, Oprah Winfrey, Martin Short, John Travolta, Michael J. Fox and Alec Baldwin.

And there will be others who haven’t been announced yet. Musical guests will include Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Mumford and Sons, Norah Jones, Amos Lee and Tracy Chapman.

Letterman hasn’t specified who, if anyone, will join him for his final show after 33 years on late-night TV.

A last chance to publically bury the hatchet with Jay Leno would be nice. However, please get Chris Elliot and Teri Garr, please!!

Chris Elliot was just on Letterman, but my wife made me change the channel because he creeps her out!

That guy was the greatest bit player from a talk show ever (the Chris Elliot Jr show!)! And the sitcom he had on Fox was hilarious.

As much as I like Colbert, they should have given the show to Craig Ferguson. He’s awesome..

Yep – and I’m just saying that because he’s Scottish.

I thought Craig was great. I mean, what other talk show host would have Metallica as their musical guest for a whole week? And I will miss him more than the current incarnation of Letterman (the founder of the underground version of talk shows).

But I don’t think Craig would have a chance going up against Fallon. Colbert has all the talents that Fallon does and I think he has a better chance at pleasing the masses than Craig.

What a career! Not bad for a crazy weatherman from Indiana.
Thanks for all of it, Dave (and Paul, too)!
