Monsanto Lobbyist Says Herbicide Safe To Drink; Runs Away When Offered Some

A Monsanto lobbyist was giving an interview to a French host proclaiming that Monsanto’s weed killer is safe to consume. But he wouldn’t try a nice, fresh glass of it when offered, proclaiming, “I’m not stupid.”

While being filmed by French cable channel Canal+, Monsanto lobbyist Dr. Patrick Moore claimed that the chemical in the company’s Roundup weed killer is safe for humans to consume and “won’t hurt you.”

He then refused to drink it when offered a glass by the interviewing journalist.

Dr. Moore was insisting that glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide, was not increasing the rate of cancer in Argentina.

    I have followed the horror story of RoundUp since Monsanto first foisted it upon the American public. It is responsible for creating “colony collapse” in our nation’s bee population, and is thought to be the main cause in the killing off of our frogs. Over the last 10-15 years, Monsanto flacks have repeatedly made the same “It’s so safe you can drink it!” claim about RoundUp right here in the USA, yet this is the FIRST time I know of that ANY reporter has asked one of them to have a swig of the stuff. The very first time. Gee, I wonder why that is?

      Along with killing my wife and 10 others from colon cancer it wiped out my bee colony of 20 large triple hives. all were dead the day after the farmers sprayed the fields before planting corn.

    Round up used to spray corn has killed over 11 women in 2 square miles where I live including my wife. all died of colon cancer. We are the only country which allows it to be sprayed on our fields which goes in the ground water to be consumed from people with wells.

    I heard it while I was at work..
    I had to laugh when he said “Round Up was safe to drink”..(he went on to say people have tried to kill themselves by drinking it and failed”…
    I had no idea they were going ask him to try it himself…

    What would have been even cooler would be if they tossed a beaker full of Round Up on him and see what his reaction would be.

    When people oppose GMO, the corporate sycophants crawl out of the woodwork screaming about how safe the corn or wheat or whatever is but it is not the plant itself that is the problem, it is that it has been modified to only work with Roundup, nothing else so even if the plant was safe to eat, you are forced to eat Roundup along with it.

    I don’t know if the plants are safe to eat or not but I know Roundup is not safe to drink and if they will lie about that, ten they are probably lying about everything else too.

    My main beef with them was what they did to farmers and how they have forced so many places into a monopoly by getting corrupt republican politicians to make unethical and immoral laws for them.
