Con Man Gets A Conscience

He was posing as an angry, threatening IRS agent. His target was a scared woman. But when he heard she was pregnant…:

The fake IRS agent had a change of heart.

A con man was in the middle of threatening a woman in Colorado that she would go to jail unless she paid him money, when his sobbing victim mentioned she was 9-months pregnant.

That piece of information made the criminal change his ways and immediately back down from his extortion attempt.

Sarah Carr, of Broomfield, told TV Station KUSA she received a voicemail Tuesday morning from a man who claimed to be with the IRS. He told her there was a lien on her property and she was being charged with tax fraud.

The woman said she believed the scam artist, because he knew a lot of information about her finances – including that she owned three businesses.

“You hear about scams all the time, and you think that you’re smart enough and you would recognize (it),” Carr said. “It was all just so real.”

But he didn’t know everything about her.

“I just start crying,” Carr told the station. “I said, ‘I’m nine months pregnant. I’m supposed to have a baby in three weeks. I don’t know what I’m going to do.'”

That changed the whole situation as the con man decided he couldn’t go through with his ploy any longer.

“And then he says, ‘wait, wait, wait, wait, you’re pregnant?’ And I said, ‘yes!’ And he goes ‘I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, this is a scam. You’re OK. We’re scamming you. We were just trying to get money out of you. Please stop crying,'” Carr told the station.

Now if the RW scammers…survival seeds, gold line, Charles Payne, etc., would find a conscience. Naw, the marks are too easy…

Don’t count on it, real life doesn’t work like a Dr. Seuss story.

And then he got back on the phone, called his next victim, and got back to his life.
