Iran Responds To Republican Attempt To Undermine Negotiations

Posted by | March 10, 2015 09:30 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

Iran called it correctly: “A propaganda ploy.”

Asked about the open letter of 47 US Senators to Iranian leaders, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Dr. Javad Zarif, responded that “in our view, this letter has no legal value and is mostly a propaganda ploy. It is very interesting that while negotiations are still in progress and while no agreement has been reached, some political pressure groups are so afraid even of the prospect of an agreement that they resort to unconventional methods, unprecedented in diplomatic history. This indicates that like Netanyahu, who considers peace as an existential threat, some are opposed to any agreement, regardless of its content.”

Zarif expressed astonishment that some members of US Congress find it appropriate to write to leaders of another country against their own President and administration. He pointed out that from reading the open letter, it seems that the authors not only do not understand international law, but are not fully cognizant of the nuances of their own Constitution when it comes to presidential powers in the conduct of foreign policy.

He’s right. Every single moron who signed that letter is as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Nobody, at least nobody in their right minds, will accuse Republicans of being smart. Why these idiots can’t be tried for sedition is beyond me.

It would have to be proven that they knowingly (meaning intelligent enough to understand their actions) were committing sedition.
Becoming outraged that their frat sing along didn’t work doesn’t constitute having enough intelligence to realize where they placed their heads. (hint: it’s dark and smells like Nugent).

” … are not fully cognizant of the nuances of their own Constitution … ” — That’s the GOP #47traitors .

How sad is the GOP and the traitorous 47 when the Iranian foreign minister has to bitch slap them and explain their Constitutional responsibilities?

  4. tiredoftea March 10th, 2015 at 11:04

Ha! Iran has a more clear understanding of how our democracy works than the fringe klowns!! Maybe they should invite him to lecture them at their tea party caucus. If only they were capable of being embarrassed!

Maybe they should invite him to lecture them at their tea party caucus.
Not sure that would have any value.
      Too many “big words”.

The GOPTP’s fatal flaw may be that they assume that everyone is as stoopid as they are. If I wasn’t so busy laughing, I’d be embarrassed that the foreign minister of Iran–and probably every school child in Iran–knows and understands our constitution and international law better than the GOPTP members in our congress. What happened to us? We used to be smart. We went to the Moon in 1969 fer pity’s sake.

“What happened to us? We used to be smart. We went to the Moon in 1969 fer pity’s sake”
      INDEED.

omg! – my favorite pornograph of Michelle.

for a scrawny mid west gal, she ain’t all that bad.

at least mumble mumble mumble would be more understandable than the mismatched words that are totally dislocated when she speaks.

That’s the truth–JFK was the last President that I felt inspired by until President Obama was elected. Obama is one of our most intelligent presidents, while the two GOP heroes, Reagan and Bush 43, were arguably our dumbest–at least in my lifetime.

It’s funny that an Iranian foreign minister knows more about our laws, our Constitution, and international law than a minimum of 47 Republican Senators. (Your average immigrant probably knows more than all of the Republicans in the House.)

He sure has a point! Let the Repubs swallow it, they’ve been lectured!!!!!!

  8. granpa.usthai March 11th, 2015 at 00:06

Iran is now saying the Senate RepubliCONs are showing the USA to be untrustworthy. This, on top of being considered the graveyard of human rights . This we do not need in the international arena. Time to declare martial law and ship the first train load of perpetual field laborers to DPRK.
47 is a good number to start with and would demonstrate to his impotence that USA Resistance is trustworthy – and profitable to their nation.

it would have been nice had he also offered his sympathies
to the rest us who must endure these brain dead embarrassments.

  10. jybarz March 11th, 2015 at 03:41

    Sweet!
Stupid GOP’s intense hatred of the 1st black President knows no bound, even if it hurts the US in the process.
Is it too much to hope the bastards are charged for treason?
Come on AG Holder, go get them by the balls and squeeze as hard as you can till they scream.

It’s pretty sad when foreigners know more about the US Constitution than our elected officials. “Tehran” Tom Cotton has just succeeded in embarrassing the United States and making himself look like a fool!
