Mall of America Terror Threat Still Can’t Budge Gun Show Loophole

Over the weekend, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson mildly freaked a few people out by telling shoppers at the consumer mecca that is the Mall of America that they should be “vigilant” over calls by Somali terrorist group Al Shabaab for sympathetic lone wolves to carry out attacks at several high-profile shopping centers. Nothing starts Americans into a fainting orgy like someone telling them not to go shopping, so DHS later clarified that “Sec. Johnson didn’t say that they should not go to the mall, he told shoppers to be extra vigilant and that security was increased.”

The threat, made via social media video, did not correspond to any specific plot, according to the FBI, but this sort of propaganda has attracted thousands to the ISIS cause, and may have inspired several recent “lone wolf” attacks. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, I asked Press Secretary Josh Earnest if there’s any thought to a renewed push to prevent the sort of attack that Al Shabaab carried out in Nairobi by, oh, I don’t know, making it illegal for people to sell guns to terrorists at gun shows…READ MORE

The NRA thinks ISIS has Second Amendment rights.

They’d probably fight to re-arm the Manson Family….

Wait a minute. Secretary Johnson tell us to worry, but President Obama says not to worry. John Kerry says this is the most non threatening time ever, while Mr. Clapper the DNI director says he hasn’t seen things this bad terror wise in his whole career. Good Lord, who in the hell is lying here? This is the most bumbling Administration since Carter’s!

You are right, I will never get incompetence at the highest level. So who is lying this time, Obama or Johnson? Kerry or Clapper? You know, if all this wasn’t so serious it would be funny.

        • whatthe46 February 27th, 2015 at 01:17

and bush/cheney being responsible for the muder of thousands isn’t serious? you j.a.

          • bluejayray February 27th, 2015 at 12:18

They are STILL lying about it. Cracks me up that Jeb “I’m My Own Man” Bush is consulting with the same pack of lying fools that his daddy and brother used…

The facts don’t agree with you. For one thing, we’re not in the Second Great Depression thanks to this administration.

“Secretary Johnson tell us”. The DHS is shutdown now! Because GOP have reproven repubs can’t govern.

CrackPAC gone wild: “An attack by right wing radicals is either carried out or foiled every 34 days” in the USA via DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson.

Let me know if someone honestly and in an adult-like manner addresses your 1st paragraph. I mean just a good solid explanation to your statement w/no insults or changing topics or deflecting w/history lessons, let me know when just an answer happens please.

      • John Tarter February 27th, 2015 at 09:02

I certainly can’t explain what is in the minds of the members of the Obama administration. The good cop, bad cop routine? Or Abbot and Costello’s famous “Who’s on first…..routine perhaps? Or maybe they think we are just too stupid to notice their inconsistency?

        • Spirit of America February 27th, 2015 at 09:13

Actually, I meant from here, if someone from here gives an adult-like answer to explain the dichotomy or if you just get insults and weird off-topic answers for reply posts. I can see the posts already done but I’ll lose track of this thread but would like you to give a holler if you get one.
          (Thanks for the reply)

You’ll probably have a quiet afternoon I’m thinking.

            • Spirit of America February 27th, 2015 at 12:29

maybe your moniker should be ‘bluejayray-gun’ with a shot like that…. :)

              • bluejayray February 27th, 2015 at 16:34

                Ba-dump-bump.
Thanks–but I don’t want to get confused with Ronnie Raygun…(no relation!)

        • bluejayray February 27th, 2015 at 12:13

No–that would be Boehner. Mr. Kisses. When he thinks of something, he’ll let you know.

    • craig7120 February 27th, 2015 at 09:41

1st off, do you own a gun? Why?
If your answer to the 2nd question has wording such, dangerous, criminals, protection, you have already have the answer to your 1st paragraph.
Wait! it was rhetorical, you got me.

As for me, I don’t take much heed to what bureaucrats say with regards to my safety but when it comes to the point that I’m listening to the POTUS, whether I should go outside and play, I’m either senile or overly paranoid, which one best describes you?

    • bluejayray February 27th, 2015 at 12:12

…and thanks to the NRA, guns are readily available to them.

  3. oldfart February 27th, 2015 at 01:00

it looks like just another bad case of CYA in Washington to me.
but just in case…good thing i don’t like malls.
and i would just love to watch the NRA pry the guns out of isis’s cold dead hands.

    • bluejayray February 27th, 2015 at 12:11

ISIS would probably mop the floor with whatever was left of the NRA. They talk tough, but their toughness pretty much begins and ends with threatening women with children.
