Can Brian Williams Survive His Fake Enemy Attack Story?
Misremembering. It can happen to anyone, like that time I made a Korean woman strangle a chicken, but it turned out it was a baby. Pobody’s nerfect. NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams is hoping that’s the attitude the public takes toward his own “bungled” recollection of his chopper being forced to land after it was hit by an RPG (Rocket-propelled grenade) during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Williams summarized the tale last week, in a Nightly News segment marking the 12th anniversary of the event, and his reunion with a soldier who had protected Williams and his crew while they were in Iraq:

what upsets me about this whole thing is that it was a stupid lie. you don’t FORGET you were actually not in a helicopter that was shot down. of course there are those that want his head and for him to lose his job. i can’t defend him on this. but, if those at fox thinks that he should be fired, then hell, there would be not any host on fox if they were all fired for the outright lies they told.

Misremembering…How do you explain the Letterman interview? He spent 5 minutes going into some very explicit detail about RPG and AK fire, altitude, speed, hard landing, they were carrying bridge parts for the 3rd Bat, most forward Americans in country, surrounded by enemy forces…it was all lies…for more than 5 minutes…all lies.
