NFL To St. Louis Police Demanding An Apology Over ‘Hands Up’ Protest: No
The St. Louis Police Officers Association demanded a “very public apology” and discipline for five players who participated in an on-field protest on Sunday. The police have their answer now: No.
The Rams players who supported Ferguson, Missouri, protesters with a silent protest, will not be fined by the league.
“I know that there are those that will say that these players are simply exercising their First Amendment rights,” SLPOA business manager Jeff Roorda said in a statement earlier. “Well, I’ve got news for people who think that way: Cops have First Amendment rights too, and we plan to exercise ours. I’d remind the NFL and their players that it is not the violent thugs burning down buildings that buy their advertiser’s products. It’s cops and the good people of St. Louis and other NFL towns that do. Somebody needs to throw a flag on this play. If it’s not the NFL and the Rams, then it’ll be cops and their supporters.”
Brian McCarthy, the NFL’s VP of communications, responded in a statement on Monday:
“We respect and understand the concerns of all individuals who have expressed views on this tragic situation.”
“We kind of came collectively together and decided we wanted to do something,” Cook said after the game. “We haven’t been able to go down to Ferguson to do anything because we have been busy. Secondly, it’s kind of dangerous down there and none of us want to get caught up in anything.:
“So we wanted to come out and show our respect to the protests and the people who have been doing a heck of a job around the world.”

This is the problem I have with Roorda. What he fails to realize is the players did a SILENT protest. Keyword silent. There were no words spoken. So where does the 1st Amendment come in. 2nd of all you’re upset that your hometown team didn’t support a decision by the grand jury in your state. K*** MY A**. Now you want the NFL and the Rams to apologize because of it. You need a reality check. There is a previous comment I completely agree make you Jeff Roorda look completely stupid. And that is any young black man wearing a Rams jersey will now be considered a thug. Protecting the Rams and their stadium is your job description. Now you’re upset because they did a SILENT (there’s that word again) protest. Now you want to get some air in your chest and say “we’re going to exercise ours too”. Go ahead, don’t be surprised when you don’t get your apology.

The fuzz has a point. These players insulted them publicly and also showed their stupidity.
Brown didn’t have his hands up.
He wasn’t shot in the back by a cop for no reason.
Brown was shot because he assaulted a cop.
These players, like many people were lied to and even after the facts in the form of witness testimony and forensic evidence overwhelmingly exposed the lie we were given as to what happened, these dunces choose to continue believing the lie.
One wonders if these players think Iraq had the WMD or the Tawana Brawley story or that the McMartin Preschool teachers did what they were first accused of.

I think it’s pretty hilarious how your trying to present your opinions as matters of facts. The facts of what happened have always been in dispute. If this cop was being “assaulted” he should have responded with equal force. Last I checked the other guy didn’t have a weapon. Also, if this officer was “sitting” in his car like purported, there should have been ample time for him to drive away from any life threatening situation. We call BS on Wilson’s story.
