No wonder racists are afraid. They’re dying off, that’s why. Racial majorities will no longer exist in the United States by 2050.

City Lab reports:

“Minorities”—or groups that are thought of as minorities now—will outnumber the white population. This isn’t a small deal. It’s going to be this century’s baby boom, affecting everything from family structures to economic trends to, obviously, voting patterns.

Don’t blame immigration. Other factors are at play as William Frey explains in his new book Diversity Explosion.

    Maybe we’ll see some substantive change in the US then. I doubt it. Humans are humans. Corporations will have completely figured out how to manipulate any demographic by that point.

    These mid terms have really made me a cynical little man.

    It won’t even be that long…..the 5 and under cohort is already 50%+ minorities.. Old white men ruling is going to be history no matter how many games the gopee plays with voter roles

    One bad epidemic that runs through the elderly in America and it could happen a lot faster. You would think the elderly would be concerned about healthcare for all to reduce those chances of that happening, but no. Go figure. In a world over-populated and people living close together I bet it comes a lot sooner.

      I would also add that the global warming problem will affect the elderly more since so many are in the coastal retirement areas. They will be hit the hardest by the superstorms we are going to get and they will die in larger numbers since they will not be able to evacuate as easily.

    oops – back in the 17th century when the whites were the majority they went right ahead a reduced the dominant population to a small holding of casinos. In the 18th century they degraded them to a subhuman level. In the 19th and early twentieth they called them irish and italian. There will be something shocking in store for the racism in the usa that may be unimaginable to the sensible folks who gather here.
