The Political Case For Impeaching President Obama
Last week’s midterm elections fueled further speculation that a newly-emboldened Republican Congress might just try to impeach President Obama, but the Beltway media and Republicans continue to rely on two key arguments against it. The first is that impeaching the President is just what the Democrats want them to do, because it would be disastrous for the GOP. Republicans have even gone so far as to say that talk of impeachment is merely a concoction of the Democratic imagination, as Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK) said this week:
“The only people I ever hear talk about impeachment are Democrats. And, I think it’s always for political purposes”
“I think this is a Democratic fantasy. And, I certainly don’t see it coming to pass.”
Note that Cole did not say impeachment was off the table, and neither did RNC Chair Reince Priebus when he was asked about it on Election Day. I don’t think this is because they secretly want to do it, but because they secretly know that it’s not at all off the table.
The second argument is that even if Republicans pass articles of impeachment in the House, they don’t have the votes to convict in the Senate. That’s what many of the 20 or so Republicans who Tom Cole didn’t hear talking about impeachment have said, and it’s what Cole didn’t hear Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) say this week…READ MORE

These people are either sociopathic liars or so out of touch w/their fellow congress members they should immediately resign their office.

I almost hope that they try to do every single stupid thing that they’ve been threatening to do. Perhaps when young women go to the drug store to get their birth control pills or condoms and find that they are no longer available in this country they will realize that voting is important.

What is ridiculous is people believe this crap.

They may deny it but I doubt they really believe it, I watch Al Jazeera and the BBC for news but like to watch Shep Smith on fox and usually forget to tune in at 3pm so I tuned in at 230 and heard it mentioned twice in a 1/2 hour.

fox is the right place to learn what the rwnj’s are pushing for, you are better than I, I refuse to watch that station.

Shep doesn’t subscribe to the usual agenda and has on occasion called out the other pundits for their lies.

Maybe one day I will try and watch his show, or at least record it and I can just erase it if he gets on my nerves too much.

A Republican member of Congress states very clearly that impeachment could be on their agenda, and yet they claim that it is all a “Democratic concoction”
These people are so good at being full of sh*t they could moonlight as septic tanks.
“”Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) said in a video posted Monday that impeaching President Obama “would be a consideration” if he moves forward with executive action on immigration””
R.J. Carter November 13th, 2014 at 17:16
President Obama took no options “off the table” for dealing with Iran’s nuclear capability.
I haven’t seen him drop a bomb yet.

There’s a huge difference between distancing oneself from a president they think is too far to one and voting to impeach that same president.
It’s a difference I don’t expect to see crossed… there may be a couple red Dems that would vote that way, but by far the majority must realize voting to impeach the president would work against them, not for.

POTUS Obama did cut in line at a BBQ House in Texas. Such behavior would never be allowed in my granddaughter’s 4th grade class. She doesn’t understand why the Republicans don’t like POTUS Obama if he’s a ‘peach’ though?

If they impeach him and fail to prove anything, do we get to impeach all of them collectively and in mass?

They will vote for impeachment if for no other reason than his failure to shine shoes , and not avoiding eye contact with white people. They will claim he was acting to uppity and forgot his place. Whatever the reason impeachment is coming.

After six years of stalemate what’s another two years of trying to repeal Obama Care and even impeaching him? In other words no worthwhile legislation for two more years…
