North Carolina Voting Machine Switches Kay Hagan Vote To Thom Tillis
While Republicans are concerned over Voter ID in order to supposedly “restore the integrity of the vote,” they might want to do a few updates. In Guilford County, North Carolina, a couple of voters had a difficult time casting a ballot for Kay Hagan. Instead, the votes registered for the Republican candidate.
Percy Bostick, 69, of Greensboro said he tried casting a vote for Democrat Kay Hagan at the Old Guilford County Courthouse, only to have the machine register Republican Thom Tillis as his choice.
“I called one of the poll workers over,” Bostick said. “She said do it again. And again, I touched the screen at the proper place for Kay Hagan, and it again reported it for Thom Tillis.”
Bostick tried again, and onhis fourth attempt, the machine finally registered the vote for Hagan.
Another poll worker decided to cancel the ballot altogether and directed Bostick to an adjacent machine, where he was able to cast his ballot without any issues.

And then on Wednesday, it happened again with another voter who reported a similar problem. That voter also tried selecting Hagan but saw the machine had recorded him as choosing Tillis.
It’s like the machines really like Tillis.
The man was moved to another machine, which finally registered his selections without any problem.
According to Charlie Collicutt, Guilford County elections director, his office has received 14 reports of voting problems since early voting started Oct. 23, including seven from people who became concerned after they got home.
Collicutt urged voters to check that the paper roll next to the screen properly registers their selections, and he said anyone having trouble should tell a poll worker.
“If a precinct official is made aware immediately, that gives us the opportunity to take the machine out of service, check it out, recalibrate it, and determine whether we can get it back into service,” he said.
The problem is, there’s no telling how many incorrect votes were cast for Thom Tillis.

The same thing happened in Illinois, only in reverse order (Republican vote swapped over to Democrat candidate).
It’s the Incumbent Party trying to stay in power.

“The problem is, there’s no telling how many incorrect votes were cast for Thom Tillis.” Apparently, this person doesn’t know how it works. All votes get a chance to “review their vote before they Confirm it If these are the only 2 that caught the switch, then we assume that either they were the only 2 that were paying attention or they were the only 2 that were switched by voting machine error. Whatever, there is no proof what so ever that the Republicans had anything to do with the malfunction, so “get over it.” lol

Same thing happened to me yesterday.. I went back to review my selections and corrected the machine errors in hopes that it did correct itself.

I live here and voted here…my votes were correct. It would be interesting to investigate whether or not this county’s votes were largely blue or largely red….its a definitely a BLUE county, so if its largely red based on votes, there was definitely a problem that went missed.

I’m sorry that you feel mistreated here or had a bad experience. It’s not so much that I don’t care but that there is no way to track in arrears what occurred. We have more conservative and libertarian readers that regularly comment and a conservative moderator that all engage civil and reasonable debate. It has been my experience that if you hold an opposing opinion, you may want to frame your post in a less adversarial position.
