Texas Republican Greg Abbott Met Border Militia Leader Days Before His Arrest For Explosives
Greg Abbott is pallin’ around with terrorists. No, not Ted Nugent, another one. Border militia leader K.C. Massey, 48, briefly met the Texas gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott four days before he was arrested on federal weapons charges. Don’t they look good together in the photo?
Massey was charged last week with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Court documents released this week show that agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives seized weapons, ammunition, a ballistic helmet, and suspected ammonium nitrate – the same explosive used by Timothy McVeigh in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
Agents found an AK-47 with six loaded magazines, a loaded handgun, and fuel along with the ammunition and explosive materials in Massey’s hotel room during the Oct. 20 arrest, reported the San Antonio Express-News.
Massey, who described himself as the commanding officer of the “American Patriot” militia group patrolling the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas, was convicted of burglary in 1988.
A photo taken Oct. 16 at a Brownsville restaurant shows the militia leader meeting with Greg Abbott, the Texas attorney general running for governor against Democrat Wendy Davis.
In the photo, Massey is seen wearing an “Abbott for Governor” sticker on his camouflage-type clothing while shaking hands with Abbott.
The militia leader deleted the photos which he previously posted on Facebook.
ValleyCentral.com captured the screen shot and caption which read, “Trying to talk to Greg Abbott about the border problems. I gave him my number we will see if he calls.”

According to a spokeswoman for Abbott, the two exchanged only “pleasantries” during the encounter.
However, she refused to say whether Abbott supports the border militia group.
The court has ordered a mental evaluation of 44-year-old John Foerster, who was arrested Oct. 21 and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Raw Story.

Greg Abbott is, not surprisingly, courting the white anti-immigrant vote without having to do more than shake hands with a felon and racist. Way to go, Greg!

Its not a surprise to see photo ops ruin political careers. Not as bad as rick perry who has fallen off the conservative talking points agenda but very close

I would prefer a psych eval of all government representatives but then I like the idea of sane government (something I have yet to see in my lifetime)

he loves the militia, he supports them and says they are doing a great job because Obama will not protect the border. He says he will hire 500 new border patrol agents if elected…where will he get the money, from education, lunch programs for the poor…maybe medicaid or food assistance for the elderly
