Rand Paul Is Slowly and Epically Trolling Michelle Obama About Donuts

Senator and presidential hopeful Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) genius plan to reach out to black voters seems to have entered into a new phase, one in which he trolls America’s immensely popular first black First Lady on Twitter, but only once a month. Michelle Obama has become a potent symbol of right-wing rage at, among other things, eating your vegetables, and so with that apparently in mind, Paul tweeted the following burn at Mrs. Obama:

Now, a normal person would look at that and go “The fuck?” but those of us familiar with the Republican base’s revulsion at all things Michelle Obama instantly recognize this as a shot at the First Lady’s  completely voluntary “Let’s Move” program to get kids to exercise and eat healthy through tyranny and fascism, obviously. Mrs. Obama has also supported healthier school lunches, which obviously means we will now be outlawing donuts.

      What’s wrong with encouraging healthy eating habits and exercise? Was Laura Bush “telling parents what to do” when she was encouraging reading and literacy? Was Nancy Reagan telling people what to do with her “just say no” campaign?

      As for thinking for themselves, why do right-wing racist Republicans always sound alike, repeating the same tired talking points over and over again?

        It must be racism . . . how dare anyone object to a progressive idea! The first women you mention where attacked endlessly by the media as were their husbands, btw. Telling me what to feed my kids has nothing to do with race, it has to do with politicians (not even elected ones in this case) demanding we do what they think is good.

          So when Laura Bush says that you should read to your kids, that’s not “demanding”. When Michelle Obama promotes healthy eating habits, in your mind that’s an angry Black woman “demanding” something.

          Encouraging kids to eat more healthy foods in the face of growing childhood obesity and diabetes, and the strain that puts on our healthcare system is a ‘progressive” idea?

          And by the way, no first lady was attacked as much by the “media” (whatever you mean by that), as Hillary and Michelle.

          Nobody is demanding that YOU do anything, but people like you demand healthcare, even when they can not pay for it.

          What was “left wing” about the KKK who all ran to the everlovin arms of the Republican Party when the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act passed.
