The Senate Race In One Graphic
Nate Silver has a unique way of presenting data as well as making predictions. In the graphic above he shows how control of the Senate largely comes down to the “Maroon 6,” six states that lean Republican but are still undecided, Alaska, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, and Iowa. If the GOP wins all 6, the Democrats would have to win South Dakota. If they win five, then the Republicans would need to win Kansas or Colorado. If they win 4, the Republicans would need both Kansas and Colorado. If they win 3, the Democrats keep the Senate.

Repubs have a very weak field and an even emptier ‘vote for me’ message centered on an impossible to repeal 2010 ACA HC reform law, now insuring 27 million through HC.gov and state HC exchanges.
3 weeks to go having a 76% unlikely outcome having a 24% probability of winning the “Maroon 6,” six states that lean Republican but are still undecided, Alaska, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, and Iowa.

Hoping against hope, it looks like the Repubs are blowing the midterms in KS., KY and AK. All states where they had the lead and the base. If they squeak by, their quest for total world domination will be set back like “Pinky and the Brain”!

Breaking: Wisconsin & Texas voter ID laws blocked by SCOTUS! So there is also a chance the House may flip on increased voter turnout. http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-courts-voter-id-20141009-story.html

Given the number of safe repub seats and the DCCC not seriously contesting them, I doubt that much optimism is warranted.
