Republicans Finally Come Out In Favor Of U.S. Ground Troops In Syria

After weeks of Republicans criticizing President Obama’s ISIS strategy, yet failing to actually say the thing they were trying to say, Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH), the highest-ranking Republican in the world, finally gave a straight answer to whether there should be U.S. ground troops in Syria.

On Sunday morning’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Boehner took the familiar sitcom mother-in-law posture we’ve all come to know and love, first answering the question about American boots in Syria by saying “The president doesn’t want to do that,” and later insisting that Congress would love to vote on authorizing the action in Syria and Iraq, but Obama didn’t ask for their opinion. Along the way, though, Stephanopoulos managed to pin Boehner down.

Boehner first tried the dodge that the president shouldn’t be saying we won’t use ground troops. “If I were the president, I probably wouldn’t have talked about what I wouldn’t do,” Speaker Boehner said. “And maybe we can get enough of these forces trained and get ‘em on the battlefield. But somebody’s boots have to be there.”

“And if no one else will step up, would you recommend putting American boots on the ground?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“We have no choice,” Boehner replied. “These are barbarians. They intend to kill us. And if we don’t destroy them first, we’re gonna pay the price.”

The Speaker also made another important, point-blank admission toward the end of this clip…READ MORE

Republicans – who really do HATE America and the individual freedoms that many Americans enjoy – say we must win the ‘war’?
    FACTS:
    Nuclear weapons WIN wars.
Nuclear weapons cost less than 20th century massive troop buildups and deployments halfway around the world.
Both times the US used nuclear weapons resulted in 0 (zero) casualties for the US and mega casualties for the enemy.

Republicans do not want to win the war.
Republicans want massive casualties for US.
Republicans HATE America and the individual freedoms that many Americans enjoy.

    OTHERWISE

they ‘d be supporting nuking ISIS to WIN the war.

I was a little shocked when I read your post… But I have to admit, sometimes I get so angry about the middle east and all of the nonstop violence, I wish they would just “nuke” the entire place… Then I start thinking “How much of that are WE (our Government) causing. Like in Iraq for example… we (our Politicians) attacked a Sovereign Nation, unprovoked, based on lies from the Bush Administration, then helped establish a new “Regime” which caused a lot of the problems going on there now. We arm groups of people, then when THAT doesn’t work out, we bomb THEM and arm a different group…. I can’t help thinking the “Oil Companies” are the greatest threat to humanity… when are we going to label THEM as a “Terrorist Group?”

No one will ever convince me we invaded Iraq to bring “Democracy” there…
