Biden Nails It On Domestic Violence

The Vice-President was a key figure in the passage of the Violence Against Women Act in 1994.  So it should surprise no one that he had one of the more eloquent responses to the Ray Rice scandal:

It’s never, never, never the woman’s fault. No man has a right to raise a hand to a woman. No means no. […] The one regret I have is we call it domestic violence as if it’s a domesticated cat. It is the most vicious form of violence there is, because not only the physical scars are left, the psychological scars that are left. This whole culture for so long has put the onus on the woman. What were you wearing? What did you say? What did you do to provoke? That is never the appropriate question.

One more reason why I love Joe Biden and want to see him get his chance to lead our country. He is so underappreciated–and underestimated.

Biden mixed rape(no means no) with violence(assault, punching, etc) and the 2 are vastly different. Sticking to assault or ‘domestic violence’, there is a ‘degree of provocation’ that would have to be entered into the debate of man-vs-woman violence/self-defense.
Man A rushes and swings at man B – does man B have a right to swing back?
Woman A rushes and swings at woman B – does woman B have the right to swing back?

      Quick question, does age matter?
A 7 year old hits a man, does man have the right to swing back?
A 75 year old woman hits a man, does man have the right to swing back?
A puppy nips at a man, does man have the right to swing back.

I mean why can’t ya drop a seven year old for overstepping their bounds?

So age is a factor as well. I agree w/that.

The reason you don’t hit a kid or little old lady isn’t their age, its the level of threat, in my opinion.

If age matters then at what age is it appropriate or a right as it were?

I’ve got to ask, is Biden the sleeper liberal in the Administration? I mean, should we be looking at him to figure prominently in the convention pre- 2016? ‘Cause his utterances on things like VAWA & LGBT equality seem off-the-cuff but then there’s his Catholicism and that hasn’t worked out so good with the SCOTUS 5.
