Then I checked Real Clear Politics today and it appears as if Democratic prospects aren’t as horrifying as everyone says. Far from it. At Michael Brown’s funeral yesterday Al Sharpton was amazing. He told the crowd that nothing will change unless they go out and vote. As long as minorities and younger voters are energized, the democrats have nothing to worry about.

They will soon find out how effective the Repubs voter disenfranchising efforts have been!

I agree. Dems have to rally up the vote as close to a Presidential election as possible. I know that it is hard to rally the troops for the not so exciting Congressionals, but the alternative is unthinkable. Adding one more Repub to either chamber will only further the ineptness of Congress.
Down here, it was said that Mary Landrieu was in trouble but it looks like she is going to come out okay. And the best part about this race is that the business community are supporting Landrieu because they are scared as shit of any more tea-publican shutdowns.

The press says that every time she is up for re-election. I knew she’d be alright. My husband and I have been donating to various important Senate, Gubernatorial, and Congressional races to ensure a Dem wins. Landrieu is one of the politicians we donated to.

The democrats have learned that Americans have very short memories any more when it comes to politics. The time for the real effective messaging is still ahead. The best punches against the GOP and their horrible demonizing selfish policies are yet to come and won’t be reflected in the polls until close to election day. What the democrats need to be doing now is registering voters. Voting after all is far easier than protesting against people that want shoot tear gas at you and jail you. Register to vote now and vote in November, or protest later, should be the message of the democrats.

I have been saying this. since the GOP shutdown the government last year. The Republicans are getting their a$$es handed to them in November. They are set to loose about 6-8 Gubernatorial races: Corbett (Pa), LePage (ME), Snyder (MI), Scott (Fl), Brownback (KS), Martinez (NM), Deal (Ga), Fallon (Ok). Possibly Walker (WS), and I’m not sure about Kaisch (OH), Abbott (TX). I know nothing about McCory in N.C.
The Dems have 9 Senate seats up for grabs, three of which they will loose:W. Va, S.D. and MT, I think. They will keep the other six, and we can welcome Grimes and Nunn to the Senate.
I’m betting that African-Americans, HIspanics, white women of child bearing age will come out in full force to vote for Democrats. The Republicans have angered every major voting demographic and their turn out means Pelosi will be SOTH. You can only push people so far before they come out and vote.
While trying to get their people out to vote by using fear and hate, they also awoke a sleeping lion; the Democratic base.

Messaging out of the Obama administration can only do so much. What we are up against is the cyclical nature of politics. The fight to get voters to stop voting against their own best interests is a long slog and no matter who is in power the people will always vote for the other party from time to time. There is no magic lock on power by either party.

The 15% approval GOP/TP aren’t energized to kneel again under any of their candidates and service them for another failed Boehner shutdown.

The 15% approval GOP/TP aren’t energized for another kneel down, under any of their candidates to service their GOP overlords in another failed Boehner shutdown. Where are their favorite nutcases now? Zapped like flies: Bachmann gone! One term Allen West terminated! Coburn done! Forced to retire for birther delusions Dr. Ben Carson? Never made any ballot! SNL’s Victoria Jackson? 632 votes didn’t even make county commissioner in her Tennessee hometown! http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/politics/2014/08/07/snls-victoria-jackson-falls-incumbents/13755741/ Half-term Palin? Wig flying off, drugged & drunk in public on TV, while fleecing suckers. Paging oddfather pizzaman Herman Cain to another lawsuit settlement disclosure.
