Morning Joe Forgets Bush’s ‘Now Watch This Drive’

The most appalling thing about the beheading of an American journalist by ISIS was not the act itself. According to Joe Scarborough’s Morning Hypocrisy, AKA: Morning Joe, the fact that the President could condemn the horrific act, then play golf in Martha’s Vineyard, the liberal elite playground, is by far the most unconscionable thing he can fathom. President Obama mustn’t care very much if he can continue his vacation, now could he?

The collective memory of Republicans is less than the first Macintosh computers, which were far superior to the limited memories of people like Joe Scarborough. The famous quote from George W Bush Now watch this drive was preceded by a fairly serious statement.

We must stop the terrah (terror)! I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers.

Then:

Now watch this drive.

Watch:

Originally portrayed in Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 911, the optics of the quote uttered in 2002 were pretty damning. Bush then ‘gave up’ golf as it was inappropriate for a wartime president to appear so callous.

While Bush was president, two American journalists were beheaded: Daniel Pearl in Pakistan (2002) and Nick Berg in Iraq (2004). President Bush wasn’t accused of inappropriate conduct even with his excessive vacation habits. There is no record of a personal statement by Bush on either gruesome killing. The killing of Berg in 2004 was fashioned out of protest to look like a Gitmo prisoner getting his due diligence. In the case of James Foley, the recent beheading was due to air strikes on ISIS which Republicans support wholeheartedly. Most of the hawkish foreign policy gurus from the Bush administration like Cheney and Michael Hayden feel there needs to be a greater campaign that resembles the debacle of the long Iraq war. That sad chapter in American history ended with the mandatory withdrawal of most of our forces in late 2011.

The world seems to crumble every time President Obama goes on a much needed vacation. But unlike his predecessor, this president could fix everything if he works constantly. But then of course he’d be under suspicion for working too hard to become a tyrant dictator. There’s no winning if you’re Black in the White House.

Rightwing hypocrisy knows no bounds. They seem to believe that it went from Clinton to Obama with no 8 years of Bush.

They mention Bush every so often but have changed his first name to Don’tblame

Apparently the fine print on that image of Bush reads: “Good for infinite free passes to future presidents who like to play golf.”

Republicans all seem to have one thing in common – selective memory.

seems that’s not limited to Republicans

This reminded me of how the right wing nuts got all bent out of shape when President Obama had his feet up on a desk in the Oval Office,of course failing to remember that that is a presidential tradition. Or when Obama is seen bowing to the various world leaders, well at least he didn’t kiss them on the lips like bush did to the Saudi king.

The Left roundly criticized Bush for that statement in question, So much so that it ended up in Michael Moore’s propaganda movie. But now it’s unfair when the right criticizes Obama? But the Republicans have the double standard. And then we have Candidate Obama’s own words in 2008 http://youtu.be/zsB1iX5T504

Dubya and Dickless had a cavalier approach to instigating war. They are evil, cowardly chickenhawks who deserve to be shunned by civilized society. I can think of nothing nice to say about either one of them.
