Texas Shooting Survivor to Collect More Than $265K From Fundraiser
Click here for reuse options!More than 5,000 people have donated to a GoFundMe site titled “Stay Family Tragedy – Cassidy Stay Fund” established three days ago, with the total nearing the fund’s goal of $300,000.
The fundraising comes as Cassidy Stay, 15, made an emotional appearance at a memorial service this weekend, thanking well-wishers and discussing her recovery after authorities say she was shot in the head.
“I’m really thankful for all the people that have been praying for me,” she said.
Cassidy wore a bandage on her hand. She lost part of a finger shielding her head from a bullet that police say was fired by her former uncle, Ron Haskell.

I think that’s awesome! I watch this girl talk after the tragedy she experienced. I wish I had the courage she has.

Not taking anything away from her but she will have a lot of challenges down the road. She saw her mother and father and siblings murdered execution style. Nothing can wipe that from her mind entirely. This is way early and yes, now she has a lot of poise but her life has been changed in ways no one can imagine.

Wonderful when people come together after a tragedy. I only wish they would come together to prevent one.

I was worried when I heard this youngster lived through that horrific circumstance, the demons she could face has destroyed people before her, and when I seen her speak, I have so much faith in her, she is such a strong young lady the demons should be scared of her.
