U.S. Army Will Not Ignore Possible Bergdahl Misconduct
Click here for reuse options!“The questions about this particular soldier’s conduct are separate from our effort to recover ANY U.S. service member in enemy captivity,” General Martin Dempsey said in a posting on his Facebook page on Tuesday.
Bergdahl, held for nearly five years in Afghanistan, was freed last week in a prisoner-swap deal with the Taliban brokered by the Qatari government. Five Taliban militants were released from the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and flown to Qatar.
“This was likely the last, best opportunity to free him,” Dempsey said.
The general said the military will question Bergdahl about the circumstances of his capture.
“Like any American, he is innocent until proven guilty,” Dempsey said. “Our Army’s leaders will not look away from misconduct if it occurred. In the meantime, we will continue to care for him and his family.”

As it should be. Let them investigate and the chips fall where they may. Cue the RWNJs to denounce General Dempsey for not backing their ravings.

doubly diddi dots, shades. Possible misconduct that would result in two promotions in rank while a captive… hummm – I guess the RepubliCONs will have to pull out some heavy artillery to get that to go anywhere outside RWNJ radio bull hockey, but, as you’ve indicated – cue Limpbag and his domain.

He’s already been tried and convicted (along with his parents) in the court of faux news and right wing nutjobs. What more could the army do?

Perhaps had the pow stated he was deserting because of the tyranny the Obama administration has rained down on the american citizens. He felt compelled to join his brothers in arms the gop and the Taliban to stop the evil dictatorship that is Obama, all would be peachy inside the bubble that is republicana.

I am not going to pollute this forum by providing a link, but the insanity is metastisizing on the lunatic fringe of the far right. Right wing messiah Allen West has called for impeachment of the President.
If you want more details, crank up your favorite search engine and follow the trail of psychosis into the wormhole of ignorance.

This all could be a ploy by Obama. He is giving them a fake scandal to obsess over so that they will all look like scandal mongers right before the next round of elections. The idiot GOPers just don’t realize yet they have taken the bait.

The guy that was forced out of the military for shooting a gun off next to the head of a prisoner?
Is Bergdahl still hospitalized? Does anyone know his medical condition? Would it be possible for us to bring him home before the RW starts the official crucifixion? Let the military handle it in their court.

It would be about time this happens. Just how many more laws will the Congress let this President get away with breaking? If he can’t get his way because the Congress refuses to pass a law he likes, Obama just goes around the Congress and issues an Executive Order.
But the breaking of this “30 day Notification Law” is Obama’s most blatant disregard for a legally enacted law yet. Until the Congress slaps him down in some fashion, he will continue with his dictatorial ways.

The law was not constitutional to begin with. The law cannot take away the separation of the powers between the different branches of government. If congress wanted the law to be enforceable they should of done their job the right way and wrote one that was constitutional. They didn’t, they failed, so Obama wrote a signing statement when he signed it stating that if time was of the essence he would act accordingly. It is the presidents job to make quick decisions when quick decisions are required. It is what the president is supposed to do. Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it is a crime.

Who ruled the law un-constitutional? I don’t remember this particular issue before the Supreme Court. Barack Obama making a signing statement that it was un-constitutional does not make it so.

It is my strongly held opinion that the law is un-constitutional because no law can take away the separation of the powers between the different branches of government. That is what this law did in certain circumstances. The law was poorly written. It has not been judged un-constitutional by SCOTUS yet. That does not mean the law is constitutional though. It just means it hasn’t gone through the judicial process yet.

Evidently it is only the RW Noise Machine that is innocent until proven guilty – because this POW isn’t even home yet and they’ve already convicted him of the charge of being …
Why is it that the loudest voices support the military until it comes down to actual facts? Let the military deal with this man. They are big boys – they can handle ONE POW.
