Retired neurosurgeon and conservative icon talked to me about his controversial comments at  prayer breakfast that launched his political visibility  And he addressed his interest in running for president. He said he’ll wait until the midterm elections to “see if the American people are very serious about wanting change.”  In that way, he says, he’d be answering the call of God.

    “By giving me the wisdom.”

So I guess he’s not running then.

I didn’t know God was registered as Republican for the primaries. Wonder if the Almighty is part of the Electoral College, too.

I’d also say it’s a possibility that he’ll do it to exploit his publicity on faux news to collect speaking fees and campaign contributions while laughing all the way to the bank. He has no more interest in really running than Princess Half-Term from Alaska.

While he’s answering the call of God I’ll be answering the call of nature. I wish he would run. It would be fun to watch him have to deal politicians and a press willing to push back at him.
