Ted Cruz, the Canadian Senator from Texas, asked his Facebook friends the following question:

Quick poll: Obamacare was signed into law four years ago yesterday. Are you better off now than you were then? Comment with YES or NO!

Cruz probably didn’t expect the”tsunami” of YES votes he received among the 47,000 responses.

Yes!! Much better off today!! And so are many friends & family members who were either previously not insured or were paying exorbitant rates due to previous illnesses. The ACA may need some fine-tuning but it’s an enormous step in the right direction.

Yes, very much – both because the benefits in the ACA will be saving me quite a bit of money, and because I got one of the good jobs created by the stimulus.

Yes! Everyone in my family has a pre-existing condition that range from minor to serious. We were uninsurable on the individual market. Now we’ve got great coverage through healthcare.gov. We did NOT get a subsidy but it still fits our budget!

Whoops.
