Congressman and Chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight Darrell Issa (R-CA) has never met an Obama White House “scandal” he didn’t like. A driving force behind the demonization of Acorn, he has left no stone uncovered on the Benghazi and IRS messes. Earlier today, he brought Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the “controversy,” before his committee to testify. When she invoked her constitutional rights to not implicate herself, he ended the hearing. Ranking member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) tried to get a word in but was silenced when Issa turned off his microphone.
Before ending the hearing, Issa announced that, “Seeking the truth is the obligation of this committee.” Apparently, that rule applies only when the “truth” makes President Obama look bad.
