Voters Overwhelmingly Oppose Republican Strategy

It’s not even close. Americans oppose, by a huge margin, the way Republicans are handling their differences with Democrats, and their strategy of allowing a government shutdown.  A Quinnipiac Poll shows voters reject the GOP on this issue by a margin of 3-1.

…voters oppose Congress shutting down the federal government to block implementation of Obamacare, 72% to 22%. Voters also oppose blocking an increase in the nation’s debt ceiling as a way to stop Obamacare, 64% to 27%.

Key finding: “American voters are divided on Obamacare, with 45% in favor and 47% opposed, but they are opposed 58% to 34% to Congress cutting off funding for the health care law to stop its implementation.”
