Trump lawyer hand-delivered secret Russian sanction relief plan to Flynn

The lawyer in question was a frequent campaign TV surrogate for Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. It looks like he’s now neck-deep in the Flynnghazi sauce:

Trump Organization lawyer Michel Cohen hand-delivered a “peace” plan for Russia and Ukraine to former national security adviser Michael Flynn before Flynn was asked to resign, the New York Times reported on Sunday.

The plan, which involved lifting sanctions on Russia, was drafted by Cohen — a close confidante of President Donald Trump who has served as his organization’s special counsel since 2007 — and Felix Sater, a Russian-American real estate developer who has helped the Trump Organization scout deals in Russia.

Sater, a businessman formerly linked with the Mafia who has boasted of his “relationship with Trump,” told the Washington Post last May that he “handled all of the negotiations” for the Trump Organization’s dealings in Russia in the mid-2000’s.

The amateur diplomats say their goal is simply to help settle a grueling, three-year conflict that has cost 10,000 lives. “Who doesn’t want to help bring about peace?” Mr. Cohen asked.

But the proposal contains more than just a peace plan. Andrii V. Artemenko, the Ukrainian lawmaker, who sees himself as a Trump-style leader of a future Ukraine, claims to have evidence — “names of companies, wire transfers” — showing corruption by the Ukrainian president, Petro O. Poroshenko, that could help oust him. And Mr. Artemenko said he had received encouragement for his plans from top aides to Mr. Putin.

“A lot of people will call me a Russian agent, a U.S. agent, a C.I.A. agent,” Mr. Artemenko said. “But how can you find a good solution between our countries if we do not talk?”

Mr. Cohen and Mr. Sater said they had not spoken to Mr. Trump about the proposal, and have no experience in foreign policy. Mr. Cohen is one of several Trump associates under scrutiny in an F.B.I. counterintelligence examination of links with Russia, according to law enforcement officials; he has denied any illicit connections.

The two others involved in the effort have somewhat questionable pasts: Mr. Sater, 50, a Russian-American, pleaded guilty to a role in a stock manipulation scheme decades ago that involved the Mafia. Mr. Artemenko spent two and a half years in jail in Kiev in the early 2000s on embezzlement charges, later dropped, which he said had been politically motivated.

      only if they admit that it was what they were trying to do. (the alternative way of looking at things I suppose). going by what the MSM was trying to float about flynn lying to the FBI, they have to prove he was intentionally trying to deceive them?

      Treasonous, yes …. Treason, no.
      The legal definition of treason is surprisingly simple…it requires a citizen to either; levy war against the US, adhere to her enemies, or give aid and comfort to same …. and you need 2 witnesses.
      The last guy tried was back in 52 … Japanese guy JFK kicked him back to Japan in 60
      It’s a pretty high hurdle since Russia isn’t actually a declared enemy …
      All that said, I have faith Trump will figure a way out to betray his country in such a way that will satisfy the criteria for other charges like maybe Misprison of Treason or possibly Seditious Conspiracy
