Michael Flynn resigns following Monday scandal eruption – is the cover-up next?
Flynn has resigned, and not a moment too soon.
Here’s how it played out:
In the early evening, WaPo reported that then-acting AG Sally Yates warned Trump Administration that Flynn might be vulnerable to blackmail.
A little after 10pmEDT, the NY Times dropped the big enchilada in the punchbowl: ‘Flynn Is Said to Have Misled White House on Russian Talks’.
Shortly thereafter, the fat lady sung.
Expect the White House to characterize this as a “distraction” and a “reset.”
It’s not. It’s a full-fledged scandal – and potentially worse.
At very least it is a yuuuuuge loss for Donald “we’ll win so much you’ll get sick of winning” Trump.
But far worse, it is now abundantly clear that the Trump inner circle had been warned that Flynn was compromised. And they allowed a compromised candidate for the highest national security office in the nation to be confirmed – in effect, hiding crucial information from Congress.
Anything less than an independent investigation constitutes a cover-up.
‘Nuff said.

As I watch and read the reports on this story, it is starting to sound like the storyline for a Mission Impossible movie. Was Flynn caught in some sort of sting?
Gen. Flynn and the Russian ambassador Kislyak are by all reports experienced professionals in intelligence and foreign relations. They had to know that communications by ambassadors are routinely monitored. How in the world would they ever be comfortable enough to discuss such incriminating information unless they believed their communications were somehow completely secure?

It appears to me that for once, the MSM did its job and kept the pressure on Flynn. Trump has only his own big mouth to thank for this because he is the one who declared war on the media, identifying it as an “enemy.” The “enemy” bit back, and now Trump’s lack of good judgment in choosing his staff is on full display for the entire world to see. I’m thinking this is just the tip of the iceberg and more will be revealed by the MSM about the treasonous b*st*rds he has surrounded himself with.
