Mexican Prez to Trump: DROP DEAD

Posted by | January 26, 2017 13:16 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Unpresidented” in modern history: a foreign leader cancels his meeting with an American president.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto on Thursday canceled a meeting with US President Donald Trump that had been set for next week after renewed tensions over Trump’s plan to build a wall on the border.

“This morning we have informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the POTUS,” Peña Nieto tweeted.

Asking about the cancellation, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said, “We’ll look for a date to schedule something in the future. We will keep the lines of communication open.”

Yeah. Good luck with that, “Cheap Suit Sean”, because, well, “heckuva job” – your boss has bungled relations with Mexico.

Thumbs up to president Nieto.Despot Don may soon realize his tactics and bully behavior might have worked for him in the business world, but will not work now.He. Has however been successful at wall building already. He has built walls of division, and now alienates our nearest neighbor.A wall around the White House is the better idea.

    • granpa.usthai January 27th, 2017 at 00:03

a wall of protesters would be better,
sigh, another Right under the BETRAYED Republic’s written constitution that’s not allowed in trumpland.

We should not forget the Mexican people loathe their President, but Trump is worse…

      • Larry Schmitt January 27th, 2017 at 13:24

They don’t know how well off they are.

        • Gina Bousquet January 27th, 2017 at 19:02

Yep. You can say Trump is incomparable, in the worst possible way…

  2. granpa.usthai January 26th, 2017 at 22:04

    awh!

wouldn’t it be much more fun to be part of a Military Invasion to force tr*mp and c*nt to say their farewells to this planet in a dark damp underground bunker?

there’s already some well trained former military folks that’d be more than happy to help you Hunt for RED TR*MPOVER.

and we could throw a big fiesta on Pennsylvania Avenue afterwards with yugge crowds! (maybe more than in pictures A or B or even A and B together!).

    • AnthonyLook January 27th, 2017 at 00:10

No, this should pan out as destiny intends. Faith dictates that in the end their will be the erring defeated, lessons learned, social evolution advanced, minds challenged and opened enough to make a difference and change. These may seem like the worse of times but they will also be time of the best of us.

      • granpa.usthai January 27th, 2017 at 00:19

you really believe tr*mpland is going to advance in evolution?

        • AnthonyLook January 27th, 2017 at 00:55

Our resistance will, trumptards don’t stand a chance.

We live in a post-PC era, so I’ll just say it: i>Trump voters are fools.

How would this even work? Did he even try to explain how he would get Mexico to pay for the wall? It’s going to be stunningly expensive to build, maintain and patrol. Does Mexico even have the money?

    • granpa.usthai January 27th, 2017 at 00:00

the wall will probably work about as well as in Berlin, just remember, putin’s ussr propaganda was: “it’s not to keep our people in, it’s to keep you out!”

probably about as many Americans will believe that BS as East Germans did.

  4. granpa.usthai January 26th, 2017 at 23:57

DIOS LOS BENDIGA SR. PRESIDENTE NIETO!

    DIOS BENDIGA A MEXICO!

I personally believe your country and CHINA will both have a more wonderful trading (and possibly Military) alliance.

it’s a wonderful thing when two countries can have open and honest trade with one another.

  5. trees January 27th, 2017 at 01:12

Dear President Nieto, you’re paying for the wall. Have a nice day.

    • Larry Schmitt January 27th, 2017 at 07:16

Please explain how that’s going to happen.

    • anothertoothpick January 27th, 2017 at 10:58

Ignoring advice, Trump is still using his ‘old, unsecured’ phone.

You and your ilk must be furious.

    • Gina Bousquet January 27th, 2017 at 12:17

Trump’s proposed ways to make Mexico pay for the wall will actually have Americans paying for it in the end, because they radically ignore basic Economics. Surprise, surprise…

    • Bunya January 27th, 2017 at 15:19

President Neito to trees: “Make me. Have a nice day”.

  6. Larry Schmitt January 27th, 2017 at 07:14

So one possible “solution” to the “make Mexico pay for it” problem is a tax on goods imported from Mexico. How does that make Mexico pay for it? We, those who buy the goods, will be paying for his stupid wall. And of course a tax will cause fewer Mexican goods to be bought, so Mexico will reciprocate. If he wants a trade war (he really doesn’t understand what that means) this is one way to do it. Another suggestion would be to tax remittances, the funds workers send to their families in Mexico. That’s great, until millions of them decide to leave. Then where are all the cabinet members and congressmen going to find gardeners and nannies?

There are plenty of Americans who are capable of accepting those jobs, and without the massive influx of cheap labor depressing the wages, those jobs will pay significantly better….

      • Larry Schmitt January 27th, 2017 at 08:14

But Americans don’t accept those jobs. They have to work too hard.

      • Carla Akins January 27th, 2017 at 08:31

It doesn’t work like that. Having available cheap labor allows skilled labor to earn more. For example, a contractor that uses an undocumented person to essentially tote, haul and clean up and then afford to pay his skilled laborers/craftsmen more because he is not losing money paying a skilled worker to perform clean up. This also allows him to bid on more jobs since it moves quicker and all of those involved are putting money back into the economy. Unless you do not have a high school diploma or GED, immigrants are not doing depressing your wages or taking your job. Economists the world over all agree, regardless of political persuasion.

Look out for the gopher holes!

          • anothertoothpick January 27th, 2017 at 15:32

            Gopher or golfer holes?

        • Jimmy Fleck January 27th, 2017 at 13:39

          That sounded rather racist.

          • granpa.usthai January 27th, 2017 at 19:35

not when they’re yard skiing with a non self propelled lawn mower.

      • maggiemoo January 27th, 2017 at 13:51

Very naive. Ask Georgia how that worked for them.

        • granpa.usthai January 27th, 2017 at 19:32

I think maybe you’re talking about Alabama?

their tomato industry took a hell of a beating, so did their state economy and treasury, with a lot of mom and pop convenience stores going bust, it added to state/federal money being paid out with nothing coming in.

          • maggiemoo January 27th, 2017 at 21:27

            Yes, you are right. Thanks!

      • granpa.usthai January 27th, 2017 at 19:28

excuse me, but wasn’t the original reason the undocumented workers took those jobs was because they paid so low?

the best damn solution to the problem is to do exactly what Reagan did and give them immediate citizenship. That way, they get documented (now you know who they are) – they pay taxes, and the economic DEPRESSION that’s sure to come with all the international trade we’re losing will be lessened/shortened. Also, the overall initial cost is cut by 100%. (adds up when you’re talking millions)

  7. Mensa Member January 28th, 2017 at 02:30

Trump has talked himself into a corner, with this one.

By just doing nothing, Mexico gets to stick it to Trump.

But, Trump’s other options are no-winners, either. His 20% import tax will p.o. both multinational corporations and U.S. citizens.

Not that Trump supporters will care. They will just blame the media or whoever Trump tells them to.
