McCain’s non-vote of confidence in Trump

Posted by | January 23, 2017 08:00 | Filed under: Politics

Not exactly a vote of confidence:

Arizona Sen. John McCain told ABC’s “This Week” that he’s confident in Donald Trump’s national security team, saying, “I couldn’t have picked a better team.”

But when ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked if that confidence extends to the president himself, McCain demurred.

“I do not know, George. I do not know, because he has made so many comments that are contradictory,” he said.
“But I think the fact that he’s appointed and nominated these outstanding individuals is bound to be an encouraging sign,” he continued.

“I trust them and have worked with them over many years.”

Geeeeez, you call one decorated war hero and former POW a loser and all of a sudden you’re the bad guy.

Yeah, it does work that way.

Keep in mind McCain crashed every plane he flew after graduating dead last in his class at Annapolis (only daddy’s being an admiral kept him from being booted)
He behaved bravely after being captured and tortured, but I can’t think of a single accomplishment McCain can call his, he has literally crashed and burned everything he touches repeatedly throughout his life, yet is called an American hero … he’s an elitist pig who never did a thing to help vets unless it served his purpose.

I am no fan of Senator McCain’s politics , I am a fan of Commander McCain and his service. I spent twenty years in Naval aviation. Yes McCain was guilty of “flathatting” as so many Naval aviators were. I find his conduct as a POW remarkable. The myth that he crashed five aircraft is patently false. Further, although he did graduate close to the bottom at the Academy, it was not dead last. It was in fact. 894th out of 899. I am able to show empathy towards his rebellious nature as a child. My own sons showed some of the same behavior, as their daddy was gone for long periods of time, and they to had to endure the rigors of military family life. They did turn out to be remarkable adults, husbands and fathers. There is one G*dammed thing for sure. Orange draft dodging molesters who call Naval Aviators losers because they were shot down and survived an ejection, capture, torture and incarceration under unholy conditions, will never….EVER be my president. http://www.factcheck.org/2008/09/mccains-plane-crashes/

I can see Mike’s point The senator hasn’t done much good while in office and he has paled up with some of … shall we say some of the worst gop presidents in our past not to mention his poor choice in VPs

John should be proud of his service to the country but leave the rest to those who make better decisions

Agreed. I personally think Rick Perry is a clown as well, but the man can actually fly a C-130. I like to refer to these types as “Aviators gone bad”

lol only if I get a seat with a parachute next to an open door on the c130

Is this what is known as a “vote of ambivalence”?

He will embrace Trump like a good soldier. Just like McConnell, Ryan and Romney

Fossil McCain needs to be put out to pasture along with the rest of his Congressional Repulsives. Sadly it won’t happen any time soon because money calls the shots. Until money is removed from politics we will continue to see the same people (both Repulsive and Dems) in Congress for almost eternity. In other words…it’s not gonna happen. Money…money…money will destroy us all….
