George Lakoff: Trump won by selling ‘the big lie’
Linguist George Lakoff explained to me how Trump used language to win.
We talked about whether Democrats have themselves to blame for President-Elect Trump’s victory and how they can improve on getting their message across to voters.
Lakoff said President-Elect Trump was much better at getting his message across by using the repetition of slogans and ideas to get his supporters in line with his vision, a concept known as “The Big Lie.” Lakoff also said Democrats made a mistake by incorporating President-Elect Trump’s words in their own slogans and speeches, which only reminded people more of the Republican nominee, and that Democrats think they have to win people over by appealing to their gut reactions, but should be trying to change their thoughts instead.

Everything he said was a lie…and stupid people want to believe them.

In other words, his voters selected him because they liked his slogans better. If they could think at a deeper level, they would of realized they were being shafted, but again that proves we need to fund education and DeVos will ensure that will not happen.

That is certainly one of many reasons. Hopefully Democrats will learn to do better
sooner than later.

“I’m not a member of any organized political party…. I’m a Democrat.”

I disagree. I think all his racist constituents heard was “I’m building a big wall and will have Mexico pay for it”.

Alan chides his liberal callers to not call Trump followers dumb.
OK, you can’t generalize every single voter.
But, we live in a post-PC era, so I’m gonna just say it: as a group they seem pretty dumb.
Listen to Alan’s conservative callers. They lack basic facts and critical thinking skills. So, they fell for Trump’s “big lie”.
