Magician David Blaine shot in mouth as stunt goes horribly wrong

He’s known for taking death-defying risks.

The 43-year-old’s show Beyond Magic, which was broadcast on E4 last night, aired a clip of him spitting out frogs to a live audience which included footballer David Beckham.

The show’s main event was Blaine’s famous bullet catch, which he first attempted in 2010…

The performer prepared for the dangerous trick by allowing friends to shoot him in the chest, while wearing a bullet-proof vest.

But his gum shield shattered, leaving him with a lacerated throat.

    Blain has done this stunt/illusion many times before..
    The ‘went horribly wrong’ is just part of the act..
    There are videos on youtube that date back a couple of years of him doing this ‘bullet in the mouth catch’ and him being whisked away in an ambulance…
    It makes great theater..

    The trick is: Blank shot at magician, who has bullet in his mouth. He snaps his head back as though it was impacted, and pushes the bullet out between his teeth, showing it to the audience. Be sure to count which is the blank.

      That’s how the trick is usually done, but it appears he’s actually doing it here (hi speed camera footage) Did you watch the show?

    If I remember right the last to be somewhat successful at this had custom steel teeth

    None the less it’s insane to attempt no matter what precautions you take There are too many amateurs out there

    I do have to give David Blaine props for being able to swallow things, (frogs, flammable liquids, assorted other items).. and then regurgitate them at will..
    Now that is amazing…
    And takes tremendous skills..
