Conservative radio host: Trump not smart enough to think beyond 140-character tweets

Charlie Sykes sees Trump’s twitter feed as an example of his limited intellect.

Sykes appeared on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show this week and explained that Trump simply lacks the discipline and curiosity to think beyond 140-character blurbs on social media.

“This is really going to symbolize the quality of this man’s thought,” he said. “I mean, there was a time when we had presidents who read books. Now we have presidents who write in 140-character messages.”

In fact, Sykes hinted that it wouldn’t make sense for Trump to try to use more traditional means of communication as president because his thoughts aren’t big enough to make them necessary.

    “…of communication as president because his thoughts aren’t big enough to make them necessary.” this is absolutely beautiful. i think we all here on LL have figured this out from day one. he definitely does not have the intellect and we’ve seen that his vocabulary is very limited when speaking. particularly when i comes making speeches. and this my friends, is the reason for tRump’s large audience of idiots. like the ones who come here and support him, they too are just as illiterate.

    The 4th estate is gone, they’ve lost all credibility and are reviled more than lawyers or congress.
    The 140 character president we have is a direct result of the news opting for profit over substance … force feeding the masses a combination of inane, insipid, celebrity pieces along with a bit of faux righteousness and a little fake news….
    The country is lost no matter what kind of president Trump turns out to be.
    In an age when information is paramount, all our information has been willfully tainted by corporations hell bent on not just re packing the news, but creating and controlling it.
