Eric Trump’s charity paid Trump foundation big bucks
To Trump, charity is a profit center.
Click here for reuse options! After sustained outcry about his foundation providing big-money donors access to the incoming presidential family, Eric Trump finally announced Thursday that he will suspend all operations of his charitable foundation. Donald Trump, on a brief respite from using Twitter to promote a nuclear arms race or whine about celebrities hating him, used the opportunity to complain about his family being treated like every other clan that has occupied the White House writing, “My wonderful son, Eric, will no longer be allowed to raise money for children with cancer because of a possible conflict of interest with my presidency. Isn’t this a ridiculous shame? He loves these kids, has raised millions of dollars for them, and now must stop. Wrong answer!”
This seems like a good time to revisit the findings of a recent Daily Beast investigation into the dealings of the Eric Trump Foundation. The outlet concluded that “the Eric Trump Foundation [paid] hundreds of thousands over the last 10 years to host lavish fundraising events at Donald Trump’s golf courses:
In promotional videos and press releases, ETF touts a 95 to 100 percent donation ratio and implies that by benefit of being a Trump, namesake properties are handed over for charity events at little or no cost. But according to a Daily Beast analysis of annual IRS reports and New York state financial disclosures from the charity’s inception in 2007 to 2014, the most recent year for which data is available, ETF spent $881,779 on its annual Golf Invitational at Trump-owned clubs, a portion of which—$100,000 in 2013 and $88,000 in 2014—was reported as paid directly “to a company of a family member of the Board of Directors.” In other words, Donald Trump himself.

Nice area. I was looking around there when I wanted to get closer to Moab. Decided to stay in Salt Lake until I can afford someplace relatively warm in the winter.
Buford2k11 December 24th, 2016 at 12:27
well, we do refer to our little valley as the “banana belt”…we seem to always miss the worst of the worst weather…it has something to do with the way the valley lines up with the prevailing winds, and the Great Divide provides a place for storms to build, as they slide south and east…I like Salt Lake City, myself…I found it very nice to wander around downtown, enjoy the sights…we attend Karate Tournaments there…A great bunch of folks, whom I greatly admire…

I have a nephew living somewhere near Silverton.
Buford2k11 December 24th, 2016 at 13:19
that is some nice country up there…I used to work in Silverton, surveying…I have some old photos of Red Mountain pass, that would curl yer eyebrows…A friend of mine got married there, and the town folks participated in the whole celebration…a parade downtown to the restaurant…and an open bar…ye haw, those of us in the wedding party had rooms upstairs…rumor had it, that this was where the old timey bandits used stay….drank the top shelf dry…if’n ya knows what I mean…

Magnificent scenery Burford. You take wonderful pictures from your deck! Doesn’t it feel remote? Your nearest neighbor is too far away?
Buford2k11 December 25th, 2016 at 21:44
oh no…I like the elbow room…I like the silence…the isolation…neighbors are ok to wave to when they drive by…but otherwise we are good neighbors…I know where the white and brown horse belongs…I know the sheep should not be out in the road, and which gate to open to put them back in….etc…we are all have the same kind of neighborhood thinking…preserve what we have, the way we have it…Trumpers, old school Republicans, Dems, and Libertarians…we don’t squabble about that…or our irrigation water…
Gina Bousquet December 25th, 2016 at 22:24
That sounds cozy and comfortable a place to live Burford. Noodles is a lucky guy! :)

Even went so far as to find that “H” on Google Earth…your photo beats theirs.
(I like piddling around on Google Earth… I could spend days on hillside letters alone!)
Merry Christmas!

We better enjoy the wilderness while we can. If the republicans have their way, there will be oil rigs in that picture. Coal mines too. Gotta give West Virginia their jobs back.

Amen to that.! And they can’t come a minute too soon!
