Trump: ‘Let it be an arms race’
His bravado could wind us up in nuclear war.
Click here for reuse options!U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said: “Let it be an arms race,” when asked for clarification of his Thursday Twitter post calling for an expansion of U.S. nuclear weapon capabilities, MSNBC said on Friday.
“We will outmatch them at every pass and outlast them all,” Trump said in an interview with MSNBC, the network reported one day after the tweet that alarmed non-proliferation experts.
On Thursday, Trump said: “The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.”
