‘Stooges and cronies and misfits’

House progressives are railing against Trump’s cabinet picks.

Members of the House progressive caucus on Thursday railed against President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks. Caucus co-chair Keith Ellison (D-MI), who is also running for chairman of the Democratic National Committee, described the Trump nominees as “representing a very disturbing trend.”

“With only a few exceptions, the individuals that President-elect Trump has appointed is the greatest collection of stooges and cronies and misfits we have ever seen in a presidential administration,” Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) said at a press conference hosted by a handful of the caucus’ members.

we are seeing a Putin influenced selection process…I know that I sound like a broken record at times, but I think we are in more trouble than we think…there is a thin line of Dems in the Senate, and a minority in Congress, and they are our only defense against what is about to befall us…I am not encouraged….

I believe we will make it through this with just a few broken bones. We are on the side where we respect brains over brawn. We are dealing with a group of machismo’s and once they realize he won’t come through for them, they will join our side and we can exploit them for the morons they have proven themselves to be.

We may make it through a Trump Administration, but at what cost? Last time we elected a republican, the economy collapsed, 4000+ of our finest lost their lives in an unnecessary war for profit and the housing bubble exploded. And with John “kill ’em all” Bolton as Secretary of State, the future doesn’t look so bright.

I have to have faith, I refuse to fall in to a depression. I am not helpful when I let myself get down. I keep my head up and plow forward. I don’t mean to sound too chipper, it is just how I have to live.

I give you a lot of credit. I’m scared. We’re about to hand the reins to this country over to a bunch of mental defectives for four years. I see a war with a major country coming soon.

We have a strong system of checks and balances. Many if not most regret allowing bush to attach Iraq and I believe most fear the ignorance of rump and would never sign on to his plans for war.

Sure, many had reservations when it came to the Iraq war, but we went anyway. But most American are easily frightened. Remember the fictitious WMD’s? We actually had democrats in congress who actually believed that steaming pile of BS handed out by the GOP, including HRC. I don’t hold out much hope of the democrats growing a pair anytime soon. It’s much easier to say “I was misled by the yellowcake rumors” than to take responsibility for one’s vote.

Well more of us voted for Her so I don’t believe we will go quietly in to the night. I am in contact with my representatives often and I hope most of us are.

I voted for Bernie in the preliminaries, but when he wasn’t nominated, I voted for Clinton. Much as she’s not my favorite, she’s better than Trump. What really astounds me is that many WOMEN voted for Trump because they don’t think women are smart enough to be POTUS. I guess they get that from their stupid religions.

We are vote twins :) I also supported Bernie but fell in line behind Hillary without a second thought. She would of been a great President, I was just nervous of her ties to Wall Street.

Yes, the weapons of mass destruction, that was never found. Then they killed the leader, thereby destabilizing the country and it has been hell over there ever sense. I am with YOU on this one, Bunya.

There may be checks and balances but people in positions of power in the House and Senate like that odious toad McConnell are salivating at the prospect of wreaking havoc on the country. Coupled with the nomination of people to lead departments they have spent their careers opposing, and the proognosis is not good

I seen a checklist that rump is using while deciding on cabinet members. There is only one requirement from what I seen:

    1. Are you the worst person for the job and if so, why?
