An Indianapolis union leader Wednesday said he’s receiving death threats after criticizing Donald Trump for “[lying] his ass off” about the Carrier deal, the IndyStar.com reports

Jones told the IndyStar the threats came pouring in after a Washington Post article Tuesday quoted the Union Steelworkers Local 1999 president calling out the president-elect for exaggerating his claim that he saves 1,100 jobs from moving overseas.

“Calling me names, wanting to know if I have children,” Jones said of the threats he’s received since the Post article. “I better watch out for myself, and they know what kind of car I drive, that I better watch out for my kids.” Trump took to Twitter late Wednesday after Jones appeared on a news segment with CNN’s Erin Burnett, insisting the United Steelworkers 1999 president “has done a terrible job representing workers.”

    The death threats could very easily be coming from inside Trump Tower. Trump is using his new power to attack everyday Americans whenever anyone criticizes him in the least. We are well on the way to an authoritarian state. The oppression and threats will not only continue, they will increase and become violent.

    People will start to ‘disappear’.

    Yes elections have consequences. One of those consequences has been made quite clear. If you dare to criticize Dear lLeader Trump, you jeopardize your safety and the safety of your family.

    I would ask all of you who accused President Obama of being “divisive”, exactly why you are silent as Trump worshipers use social media to create an environment where any criticism of the President-elect is responded to not with reasonable debate but with threats more appropriate for Germany in 1936 than the United States in 2016.

    In the immediate aftermath of the 2008 Ashley Todd hoax where she accused an Obama supporter of disfiguring her face, there was no shortage of you proclaiming that it was a sign of the ugly new world to be unleashed upon us if Mr. Obama was elected.

    So where are you all now? Where is the outrage over this divisiveness? Would it kill you to offer some feeble platitude that threats are no way to change minds?

    Or are you all full of crap?
