More Carrier jobs leaving for Mexico than originally thought
The number of jobs saved is down to 730.
Click here for reuse options!President-elect Trump claimed to have saved 1,100 jobs at the Carrier plant in Indianapolis, IN, but workers have been notified that as of right now, only 730 jobs will be staying in the US. 1,233 jobs will be moving to Mexico.
WTHR in Indianapolis reported:
“We found out today that more jobs are leaving than what we originally thought,” Bray said. “It seemed like since Thursday, it was 1,100 then it was maybe 900 and then now we’re at 700. So I’m hoping it doesn’t go any lower than that.”
Union workers got a letter at the plant saying Trump’s deal with Carrier will save only 730 factory jobs in Indianapolis, plus 70 salaried positions – 553 jobs in the plant’s fan coil lines are still moving to Monterrey, Mexico.
All 700 workers at Carrier’s Huntington plant will also lose their jobs.

By the end of the week it’ll be zero factory jobs but they’ll save a few management positions in Indiana. You can’t expect management to move south of the wall can you?

When I was a kid growing up in Arizona, most of the AM stations we could hear were from Mexico. They didn’t have the same 50,000 watt limit that US stations did. So some broadcasters had their offices on the US side, broadcasting in English, with the transmitters in Mexico, at 100,000 watts. They could be heard all over the west. Wolfman Jack used work at one of them. There’s a sports talk station in San Diego that still does that.

I believe it’s XERB that had The Wolfman and Art LeBeau. We used to listen to him when I was at 29 Palms. Driving the desert roads on a hot summer night.

I found out the sports station is a different station, they just use Xtra in their name. The original name of the station was Xetra, and they had many formats over the years, from all news to “beautiful music” (elevator music) to sports. They were the “Mighty 690.”

NOW, it is 730 jobs that he is saving. Those 730 employees, should begin looking for other jobs because pretty soon, they will be gone. I wonder how many of those employees that will be unemployed, voted for trump?

I hope they all did.

$9589. That’s what each job is worth to Indiana. How many years of 2.23% income and 7.5% sales tax will the state collect to cover this?

Eventually, it will just be one guy in an office to collect the tax-breaks for the next 10 years.
