Cheney: Trump on twitter means we don’t need press anymore

Posted by | December 4, 2016 15:19 | Filed under: Media/Show Business News Behaving Badly Politics

Why have a press to hold leaders accountable when they can just tweet whatever they want?

At the Reagan National Defense Forum, CNN’s Barbara Starr asked the former vice president if Trump’s casual tone on Twitter was dangerous…

“I think one of the reasons people get so concerned about the tweets is it’s sort of a way around the press,” he said. “It’s modern era, modern technology. He’s at the point where we don’t need you guys anymore.”

Pausing a moment for audience laughter, Cheney added: “I apologize.”

Yeah, it’s perfect for Trump! Only 7% of the US uses Twitter.

And how many of that 7% are loyal tRump voters ? If any.

Well, one of the points of pride with the alt-reich (the NEW Klanazis) is that they are “tech-savvy.” So they probably are twits (that’s what you call Twitter users, isn’t it?)

Side stepping the media has been done before FDR using his ‘fireside chats’ to by pass the Republican control over the major newspapers. His goal was to talk to the American people directly without going to the filters the press put many of his speeches thru. This way he could not be ‘misquoted or interrupted in misleading ways.–
With Trump , what you see is what you get

The evil cheney wishes he knew of a way around the press when he was President (come on, we all know who drove the boat when W was in office).

Tell us about it, Dick. We always value the opinion of great war heroes such as yourself. We’ll never forget how you bravely fought for 5 Viet Nam deferments back in the ’70’s and, 30 years later, heroically hid yourself if a bunker while you sent America’s young to die in a war fought to increase your income. Such courage! Such valor! The name “Dick Cheney” will go down in history as one of the greatest …. I don’t know what … in U.S. history.
