Trump invites murderous thug to White House — right-wing rejoices
A few months ago, U.S. ally The Philippines elected their own version of Donald Trump in the form of Rodrigo Duterte. He and Trump are frighteningly similar. Both campaigned as “law and order” candidates. Both regularly use overheated rhetoric when attacking their opponents. And both seem comfortable with the idea of using violence to solve problems.…

The Philippines have been one the United State’s greatest allies for many decades. That our President wants to meet with their leader, and that our last President was unable to find common ground with our close ally, is repulsive. That Obama did find common ground In Pakistan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Cuba is also a stab in the back to America. Sorry to see you have done so little homework before posting a story on the Philippines. Like most things on this website, your “story” is a simple partisan hack job, not really a story. If you honestly think the US President should NOT meet with one of our closest Asian allies, then you are ill informed and using your intellect dangerously. Thanks for that, the world needs more of that kind of thinking (snark)

My other post is under moderation.
Hopefully it will appear soon. Simply stated, the fact that you choose to criticize the publication of this story and you say not a word about the crudeness of referring to Mr. Obama as son of a wh*re, tells me you are just another Obama-hating hypocrite
the other point in my moderated post is that the agreement Mr. Obama reached with the Philippines was a start to repairing the damage that occurred when the USA had to abandon Subic Bay. That happened under President George H.W. Bush.

BANGKOK, Thailand, Dec. 27— The Philippines told the United States today that it must withdraw from the Subic Bay naval base by the end of 1992, ending a vast American military presence that began with the capture of the islands from Spain in 1898.

arc99 below is absolutely correct….you are not totally wrong about meeting with allies…Trump is going about alienating our friends and allies…Trump has no clue about foreign relations, and those that pence is choosing for the cabinet are just as bad, if not worse…I have Philippino friends, who are anti Duarte big time…their families back in the Philippines are scared…so, I don’t want that scumbag in our country either…it is ok to believe the derp, just so it doesn’t do any harm to our nation….

You might as well be posting a comment to a brick wall…
Idiots like Meherenow haven’t a clue about foreign relations or are simply in denial of reality.
