    Try this: Google “male news anchor” and click on “Images”. Then Google “female news anchor”. Do you see the difference? The men’s bodies are completely covered, except for their faces, necks, and hands. But many of the females are wearing sleeveless tops, short skirts, and/or revealing a good deal of cleavage.

    If you were raised in the US, this probably seems normal. But if you were raised in an Arab nation, you might see things differently. In Muslim cultures, everyone dresses conservatively, including men. You just don’t see a lot of skin. But in Western countries, there seems to be a double standard. In a workplace setting, men are generally expected to wear trousers and shirts with sleeves, and men are discouraged from revealing their chests. But women in professional settings frequently wear skirts, sleeveless tops, and plunging necklines that reveal a lot more skin than their male coworkers.

    If you grew up in a culture where arms, legs, and torsos are routinely covered in public, you might consider a short skirt, sleeveless top, and plunging neckline to be “partial nudity”. Would you want to work in a professional setting with coworkers who are partially nude?

    I got my hair cut funny out of respect for Kim Jong Un. I got a tiny “you know what” out of respect for the Chinese. Now I gotta wear a Hijab out of respect for the Muslims? Trying to keep up with being a so-called progressive is getting so difficult these days. My head is spinning. Seriously though, it’s a dumb idea.
