Steven Mnuchin, ex-Goldman Sachs, chosen for Treasury
He has roots on Wall Street and in Hollywood, but no government experience.
Click here for reuse options!Mr. Mnuchin, 53, was the national finance chairman for Mr. Trump’s campaign. He began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he became a partner, before creating his own hedge fund, moving to the West Coast and entering the first rank of movie financiers by bankrolling hits like the “X-Men” franchise and “Avatar.”
As Treasury secretary, Mr. Mnuchin would play an important role in shaping the administration’s economic policies, including a package of promised tax cuts, increased spending on infrastructure and changes in the terms of foreign trade. He could also help lead any effort to roll back President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran and opening to Cuba by reimposing sanctions on Tehran and Havana.
His selection fits uneasily with much of Mr. Trump’s campaign rhetoric attacking the financial industry. Mr. Trump, in a campaign ad intended as a closing argument, portrayed the chief executive of Goldman Sachs as the personification of a global elite that the ad said had “robbed our working class.”

Because the Cheeto-faced twitiot self funded his campaign so he wouldn’t be influenced by special interests and Wall Street.

I wonder what the justification a rumpette would give for rump nominating all these swamp monsters taking over the swamp?

They’re as dumb as Donnie, in the 70 I.Q. bottom 5% of their shallow gene pool. Economically Steven Mnuchin is deplorable. So much so that Nobel economic science Laureate Dr. Paul Krugman had to go easy on the cratered neoclown in an NPR debunking.

Thanks for the info, I have no idea who the guy is. I never have heard of him so I guess that works in his favor until people hear Dr. Krugman talk about him.

NPR recaps the DT Nominees. http://www.npr.org/2016/08/05/488825863/trumps-names-wall-street-and-real-estate-titans-as-economic-advisors
The bank carried out more than 36,000 foreclosures during Mnuchin’s reign, according to the California Reinvestment Coalition, a San Francisco-based nonprofit whose deputy director, Kevin Stein, dubbed the bank a “foreclosure machine.” The group has accused OneWest of shoddy foreclosure practices and avoiding business in minority neighborhoods, claims the bank has denied . . . If Mnuchin gets the nod, the world will hear more about people like Leslie Parks, who found the locks on her Minneapolis home changed during a blizzard in December 2009 after OneWest foreclosed. Or Rose Gudiel, who was evicted from her Pasadena home under circumstances she claimed were improper and inspired about 100 people to march on Mnuchin’s Bel Air, California, mansion in 2011. I heard that on NPR today….
Steven Mnuchin..(his newly bought failing bank OneWest)…
He put out ten’s of thousand’s of Californians out of their homes during the sub prime mortgage economic collapse of the late 90’s..
And made a billion dollars for himself doing it.
Just the kind of guy Trump wants to run our economy.
