‘Lock her up’ crowd angry at Trump’s betrayal

Posted by | November 26, 2016 06:29 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Now that The Donald isn’t going to put Hillary Clinton in chains and an orange jumpsuit, the people he riled up are angry.

Many of Trump’s more high-profile fans, surrogates, and allies are angry about this about-face and insist “Crooked Hillary”—as Trump dubbed her throughout the campaign—be locked up.

“I’m hearing from people who are livid at Hillary, they’re still mad,” Rush Limbaugh, the famous conservative talk show host, said on Tuesday afternoon. “There are a lot of people who really thought that when Trump said ‘You oughta be in jail,’ that they agreed with that and thought that she should be!”

“Whoa! I thought we elected [Donald Trump] president,” Ann Coulter, conservative pundit and one of Trump’s most loyal media boosters, tweeted in response to the news. “Did we make him the FBI, & DOJ? His job is to pick those guys, not do their jobs…

Coulter wasn’t alone in her frustration. Calls to imprison Clinton, wasn’t a passing idea in the Trump campaign—it was a central tenet. After all, this reversal comes  after a long campaign during which Trump and his allies and his surrogates had made “LOCK HER UP!” chants and “Hillary for Prison” swag staples of Trump rallies.

“BROKEN PROMISE,” declared Breitbart—a far-right website previously run by Stephen Bannon, Trump’s incoming White House chief strategist.
Former tea-party congressman Joe Walsh, who tweeted in July that “Hillary Clinton should be in prison,” didn’t seem too pleased, either.
“When he said ‘Lock her up’ what he really meant was ‘Help her heal,’” Walsh tweeted sarcastically on Tuesday.

He’ll turn into Hitler or Obama — unless of course he just walks away and leaves it all to Pence.

Trump will be worse than what we are expecting…He will NEVER be close to being good enough to kiss PBO’s ass, let alone be “like him”…Trump is going to be a complex dictator, with all the attributes of all of the worst dictators who ever lived…From Hitler to Mousilini, Pol Pot, Kim Il Jong, all of the worst…Trump will be a mix of these…all according to how he feels in the morning…

      • robert November 26th, 2016 at 10:05

After reading about possibly 75 lawsuits against the trumpster I don’t think walking away will ever be an option.

Pulling off a Jimmy Hoffa SR vanishing act….now that’s a possibility.

Once again proving Trump supporters to be stupid ignorant fools.

    • StoneyCurtisll November 26th, 2016 at 08:38

      Bingo~!

    • granpa.usthai November 26th, 2016 at 09:11

too bad the MAJORITY of those who voted have to live under their stupidity for the next 4 years.

  3. StoneyCurtisll November 26th, 2016 at 08:42

There is going to be a lot of disappointment to go around during the next four years..
    For both sides..

    • Willys41 November 26th, 2016 at 08:45

As a progressive Democrat I have to say that there is nothing Trump could do, or not do, that would “disappoint” me one iota more than the way America, this ship of ignorant fools, voted on Nov 8.

      • StoneyCurtisll November 26th, 2016 at 09:17

        Hive Five to that~!

maybe, maybe not – if I go public with the sale of my invisible nuclear blast proof suits, guaranteed to work at 1000 feet from ground zero or double your money back (just return the invisible suit free of any radiation – will also do for a small 200% fee along with the original sales receipt) …

I mean, there is definitely a MARKET out there IF you could come up with a good selling device!

The Reichfuhrer never saw a business contract he didn’t mind breaking, but of course now that he’s a politician he’ll obviously become a man of his word and will fulfill every single promise he ever made on the campaign trail.

I mean, talk about gullible. Another name for Trump supporters.

  5. William November 26th, 2016 at 08:53

I often wondered if Trump actually believed a president had the authority to jail a political opponent. Clearly his supporters were that stupid. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5c87f947bdc88a33d22db65c6596ae48d5933e43c61e3a90332bdf43e92a813f.png

      Gotta love Mencken…

Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.

The bubble of bloviations has popped and the swamp is filling up. Clearly America needs election reform. We simply can’t live this way for long. The stress and divisions will tear this country apart and turn us into a land of feudal states owned by the oligarchy. We must stop this, now.

    • Buford2k11 November 26th, 2016 at 09:15

ummm…Pretty much how I see it, as well…the last year, during the campaign, we saw the signs…we were fooled by the media, yet, I don’t see a way out of this mess…

      • mea_mark November 26th, 2016 at 09:39

The people on the streets, the fourth branch of government, needs to take control and demand reform and stop cooperating with the other three branches until we get it. Essentially, the government is about the people, without the people cooperating, there is no government. If our politicians don’t get it, then damn them all to hell. It’s not about the politicians, it’s about the people.

I really don’t like going to town…It means that I have to see, talk to, and try not to get violent with a few Trumper Townies…They are making things unpleasant for some of us…Democrats…I know these folks, I worked with some of them…I know how they think, and they are acting just how I thought they would…They won’t let me ignore them, and they won’t let me walk away, without some kind of nasty comment…This kind of thing was never out in the open…but now, Trumpism has taken over their feeble minds…Other people are looking askance at them…a few other folks, whom they have harassed, keep silent, and hope things get better…There is not much one can do, in polite society, to deal with people like this…It is like they WANT violence…they WANT the reaction…We are a Blue Dot in a Sea of Red…Trumpland….this county went 70% to Trump…Coal Mine country, Ranchers, Farmers, Business Owners, and all think Trump will live up to his promises…They get angry when you tell them Trump cannot/will not deliver on his promises…so, I go to town on off hours, and infrequently…A long winter’s nap is my goal….and a little target practice with my old friends, Uncle Smith and Auntie Wesson, and Cousin Colt…

    • granpa.usthai November 26th, 2016 at 09:16

just remember, with all them trumpies in town, no reason for you to have to go hungry this winter…may want to invite a few of the chubbier ones over for dinner if things get really bad?

one shot, one disable, keeps the meat fresh longer.

      • Buford2k11 November 26th, 2016 at 09:21

but it would be Rancid from the start….the virus is contagious…like rabbit fever, distemper, rabies, plague, just to name a few….

        • fahvel November 26th, 2016 at 10:19

yup, you have a point – but maybe rendering and then drying and them spicing – possible new kind of boudin.

Eternally aggrieved right wingers now have something else to be angry about.

Once again, that means it is a great day for America.
