Great Video. Barry McGuire inadvertently gave us the group The Mamas and the Papas. His lead on a recording of California dreaming was so terrible for that song that they took his voice off and replaced it with that of Denny Doherty. That was the day the Mamas and the Papas started their rise to stardom and musical history.http://www.scpr.org/programs/take-two/2013/03/05/30786/how-the-iconic-tune-california-dreamin-came-to-be/

I didn’t know that about Barry McGuire. I was too young to be a fan of his, in his prime, but I did see him as a has-been. In the late 70s I think. He was still singing Eve of Destruction but I don’t remember any other song he wrote.

        • William January 28th, 2017 at 10:24

I love music history. Barrys lead on California dreaming was so terrible and the harmonica solo so awful that the producer grabbed a friend in another studio who could play the flute. That’s how the flute solo got in the song. It was suggested that Barrys voice be erased from the song, and the backup group left in. That was the moment the Mammas and the papas were born. Lot studio musicians got their start that way. Carol King and Paul Simon played backup guitar and drums, for hits in the sixties and didn’t get credit. Elton John and Billy Joel were also studio musicians.

She just arrived threatening US allies if they don’t back the dictator in chief, never heard of such an opening speech from a new Ambassador. It’s as stupid!d as if Trump himself were there.

Wow, that new “logical fallacy” caller is annoying! (I don’t remember his name.) He’s the same one who called up yesterday and laughed like an idiot.

I try, I REALLY do, to listen to Alan’s show and give the callers my open mind…
But a lot of them don’t wipe their feet.

Will we hear no voice in Congress against felony charges protesters in DC mass arrest are facing? DC lawyers say they never saw such charges against protesters.

An ex-KGB chief suspected of helping the former MI6 spy
Christopher Steele to compile his dossier on Donald Trump may have been
murdered by the Kremlin and his death covered up. it has been claimed.

Oleg Erovinkin, a former general in the KGB and its successor the
FSB, was found dead in the back of his car in Moscow on Boxing Day in
    mysterious circumstances.

Erovinkin was a key aide to Igor Sechin, a former deputy prime
minister and now head of Rosneft, the state-owned oil company, who is
    repeatedly named in the dossier.

Erovinkin has been described as a key liaison between Sechin and
Russian president Vladimir Putin. Mr Steele writes in an intelligence
report dated July 19, 2016, he has a source close to Sechin, who had
disclosed alleged links between Mr Trump’s supporters and Moscow.

The death of Erovinkin has prompted speculation it is linked to Mr
Steele’s explosive dossier, which was made public earlier this month. Mr
Trump has dismissed the dossier as “fake news” and no evidence has
emerged to support its lurid claims.

Rosneft offered Trump aide Carter Page a huge cut of the company in
exchange for lifting sanctions, which is coming this weekend

Why is it that we haven’t heard a peep from the Democratic Party in this first sh!tstorm week? Are they all stunned? Debating strategy behind closed doors? What’s going on with them? ‘Where have you gone Joe di Maggio, a nation turns it’s lonely eyes to you’.

    • dewired4u January 28th, 2017 at 20:37

Why draw attention away from this sh*t storm plus it would just be wac-a-mole.

      • Gina Bousquet January 28th, 2017 at 20:58

You think their silence is strategic?! Does not look like a good strategy. It would not make a difference, is that it? The country in the hands of a mad man and no opposition heard?? That does not make much sense. It gives the impression of a paralyzed, stunned country.

        • dewired4u January 28th, 2017 at 23:17

we are. a week is nothing it takes time to regroup and recover. warren and sanders are speaking up but all the ink is donald’s.

          • Gina Bousquet January 29th, 2017 at 05:41

That’s the same error the press and nets made during the campaign, most of the ink is Donald’s, because he is darn outrageous! Even here. Shouldn’t we read more about the opposition?

            • dewired4u January 29th, 2017 at 14:02

dishonest john got his act from professional wrestling, deflect the referee’s attention away from the dastardly thing being done to ones opponent so all of dj’s tweets are covered live while everything else is mentioned later or if at all.

              • Gina Bousquet January 30th, 2017 at 13:40

I never thought I would say that, but get used to checking Huffington post, it seems to be the news site definitely supporting the resistance. This Monday morning I had a look at all the press I’m used to, only there I found the facts of the weekend: the executive defied the judiciary at the airports. That’s the same as stating there’s a dictatorship in place.

          • Gina Bousquet January 29th, 2017 at 06:34

“It is illegal, it is unconstitutional and it will be overturned.” Senator Warren on Trump’s ban. Finally it is in all news, Democratic lawmakers and governors at several airports where people were stranded.
According to the press the WH refused Homeland Security alert about said executive order and did not hear the DOJ about it either. KKKlowns in the Oval Office.

    • Willys41 January 29th, 2017 at 02:20

What could anyone possibly say? The English language wasn’t designed to describe a clown show like this. I mean, The Three Stooges have taken over.

      • Gina Bousquet January 29th, 2017 at 05:35

You mean stunned… It’s hard not to feel like this, that’s for sure. But the opposition is not expected to silence, mainly when the government is threatening. I’m told Warren is not silent, I must look it up in the news.

  17. Gina Bousquet January 29th, 2017 at 06:41

We can hear the Democratic Party now, loud and clear, in airports across the country. That’s so good! :)
